I. She and her Senpai

In episode 1, titled “Uzaki-chan wants to hang out,” begins with the introduction of Shinichi Sakurai, a 19-year-old college student.

On being greeted by his junior Hana Uzaki on her first day of college, exchange formalities and talk about various things from their high school days.

He tells her he has several things to do in college, and hence he stopped swimming because they did not have that club in college. But after a year-round observation of her senpai Uzaki only finds him slacking off alone every day.

II. Her conclusion and mission

Uzaki, after a year of observation, concludes that Shinichi is a loner. Therefore, she decides to spend as much time with Shinichi, believing that being introversive or intimidating is uncool.

Beginning her project to have Shinichi experience a fun lifestyle, Uzaki stalks him on his privacy like an annoying pest. The next day when Shinichi’s lectures are canceled and he has no schedule for work, he decides to go for movies and, as usual, Uzaki tags along.

After watching the movie, they try getting a massage in the store’s massage chairs but soon have to leave due to Uzaki’s indecent noises.

Similarly, Uzaki enjoys the rest of the day at the VR center, the batting cage (even though she strains her back in the process), and ultimately dinner at Taneda ramen where she eats even Shinichi’s portion of the chicken.

Despite having to babysit Uzaki, Shinichi shows indifference and enjoys the activities a little himself.

Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! Also known as Uzaki-chan wa Asobitai! is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Take. It has been serialized through Niconico Seiga’s Dra Dra Sharp website since December 2017 and collected in five tankōbon volumes by Fujimi Shobo as of July 2020.

In North America, the manga is licensed by Seven Seas Entertainment. An anime television series adaptation by ENGI premiered on July 10, 2020. Hana Uzaki is thrilled to discover that she is attending the same college as her high school upperclassman Shinichi Sakurai.

After a year of watching him laze around, he concludes that he is turned into a loner. Therefore, she decides to spend as much time with Shinichi for him to experience a fun lifestyle.
