Zack Snyder’s Justice League has hinted at The Atom’s appearance with a fake doctor’s note requesting to exempt fans for the movie’s premiere. The Snyder Cut will be director Zack Snyder’s version of the original Justice League movie, which had to be replaced by Joss Whedon’s Justice League in 2017 after the former stepped down from production due to a personal tragedy.
Whedon made major changes to the original script and ordered many reshoots, resulting in the movie facing many backlashes. With the support of fans, cast, and crew who campaigned for the original cut’s release, Zack Snyder is finally bringing his version to the screens this week.
The movie’s four-hour runtime should redeem Batman and Cyborg’s arcs along with the inclusion of characters and scenes taken from the theatrical version, such as Martian Manhunter and Darkseid. The Snyder Cut will be coming out tomorrow on March 18, 2021.
However, with less than 24 hours of its release left to go, the film’s official Twitter page has shared a fun surprise for fans. Sharing a “doctor’s note” that viewers can use as an excuse to stay home and watch the film, the note reads.
“Please excuse __________ from work/ school/ general activities no matter how big or small on Thursday, March 18, 2021, as he/ she/ they has a sizeable obligation to watch Zack Snyder’s Justice League several times. In case you are unaware, this is a massive, unprecedented event.”
What is more eye-catching is the note reveals its signee to be Dr. Ryan Choi, AKA The Atom. His exclusion from Whedon’s Justice League was a notable cut among many others who weren’t featured in the movie. Alongside being an amusing promo, the “letter” teases what fans had been speculating for a while now: the Atom’s reinstatement in the franchise.
However, his role is likely to be a minor one, which will not feature him sporting the shrinking suit. Rather, Atom will probably be seen interacting with Dr. Silas, Cyborg’s father, in one of the film’s significant locations—S.T.A.R. Labs.
Thus, the “note” couldn’t have come at a better time on the eve of the much-awaited film’s premiere.
