Mendo introduces everyone to his animal kingdom in episode 19 of Urusei Yatsura, titled “Magic Realm! Jungle of Terror, Pickled!”

Mendo tooks everyone to his house and told them about his octopus friends. One of the main octopuses goes missing, and what follows is one hell of a messy situation.

Lum and Ten get drunk in the second half of the episode, and again, the àwhole school is turned into a mess like always, with everything adding up to nothing but just some waste of time.

Episode 20 Speculations

Some new character will target Benten in episode 20 of Urusei Yatsura, titled “Recovering That Which Was Lost.”

Lum, Benten, and Ran are in danger as these characters will try to recover something from them. What that something is? Don’t know! These three are entirely new characters, so predicting what they are after is tough.

The anime is getting repetitive now, with the same gags thrown at us repeatedly. It has been twenty episodes, and we are yet to get any kind of character development. I don’t have much hope from the next episode as, well.

Episode 19 Recap

Mendo takes all his friends to his house to introduce them to octopuses, one of the most important parts of the Mendo family. Everyone finds it really strange. Mendo tells them the importance of octopuses.

He takes them to a cold place where he intorduces them to Matsuchiyo, an octopus that used to live in Antarctica. Ataru makes fun of Matsuchiyo, that makes him sad, and he runs away. The whole estate goes on alert mode.

They search for the octopus in the jungle. However, Mendo forgets to tell them that the jungle is full of wild animals. Suddenly, all the boys and girls start getting dragged around by tentacles.

They find out that Matsuchiyo has turned gigantic. He grows big in size in hot weather, so they keep him in a cold place. He grabs hold of everyone and squeezes them to death.

Lum uses electricity to get rid of Matsuchiyo. Mendo calms him down, and they both embrace each other.

Ten goes to Ataru’s school during lunchtime and asks to eat his lunch. Ataru gives him a red ball that is inside his tiffin. After eating that, Ten starts throwing fire from his mouth and feels drunk.

The situation gets even more tense when Lum also gets drunk. Ataru goes to find Ten while Mendo tires to calm Lum down. Nothing works, and even Sakura gets involved in the situation.

Mendo bets with his teacher that he didn’t bring alcohol to the school. Sakuranbou shows up with the medicine for the drug, but the situation has already gotten worse to do any remedy.

About Urusei Yatsura

Urusei Yatsura is a manga series by Rumiko Takahashi. It has a total of 374 chapters and was published from 1978 to 1987. Its anime adaptation received 195 episodes from 1981 to 1986. A new anime adaptation with selected stories began airing in October 2022.

In the series, a humanoid alien race invades the Earth but agrees that if the protagonist wins in a game of tag, they will leave it unharmed. Ataru wins against the alien girl, Lum.

Lum misunderstands and thinks Ataru is proposing marriage, and starts living with him and joins his high school. Ataru is a trouble magnet and gets stuck in weird situations pretty often.
