Vintage anime Urusei Yatsura’s reboot announcement ignited a fiery wave of excitement among its fans. Everyone’s favorite alien girl is finally back with the same amount of charm and better animation.
The anime had previously announced that it will consist of four cours and has now revealed the pattern for the first season.
Urusei Yatsura anime’s first season will have a half-year run with two consecutive cours and no breaks starting October 2022. For now, Fuji Creative Corporation lists the series with a total of 46 episodes.
The franchise will soon reveal more information regarding the release date and schedule beyond season 1.

Season 1 will be more comedy and less romance as it will feature Lum’s arrival on Earth and her encounter with Ataru. As we all know, Ataru didn’t like Lum initially, and their romance is more of an enemies-to-lovers.

About Urusei Yatsura
Urusei Yatsura is a manga series by Rumiko Takahashi. It has a total of 374 chapters and was published from 1978 to 1987. Its anime adaptation received 195 episodes from 1981 to 1986. A new anime adaptation with selected stories began airing in October 2022.
In the series, a humanoid alien race invades the Earth but agrees that if the protagonist wins in a game of tag, they will leave it unharmed. Ataru wins against the alien girl, Lum.
Lum misunderstands and thinks Ataru is proposing marriage, and starts living with him and joins his high school. Ataru is a trouble magnet and gets stuck in weird situations pretty often.
