Forza Horizon 5 offers racing enthusiasts an extensive roster of cars to unlock and drive through the beautiful world of Mexico. There are many ways to unlock the in-game cars, one of them being the game’s slot machine-like Wheelspin minigame. But, as with every shortcut route to unlock resources, players have found an exploit that allows them to earn Wheelspin rewards much faster than intended. Don’t get too hopeful, though; a hotfix has been released.
A pretty robust update was dropped yesterday on November 17th, for Forza Horizon 5, fixing over 30 different issues present in-game at launch. Some of the most prominent issues were the several exploits taking advantage of the racing game’s online progression systems.
For the exploit, players would purchase a fairly cheap car named the 1945 Willys MB Jeep, earning some Skill Points, and getting a Super Wheelspin before repeating the process.
Most Forza Horizon 5 players probably never used an exploit but definitely ran into some of the game’s bugs. The game has suffered from many online disruptions, requiring players to rush out of their menus and re-establish the connection to Horizon Life. Other times when players were getting into matchmaking, their vehicles would stop suddenly regardless of how fast they were going. Those playing Eliminator games would have to wait for the servers to finally remove them once they had been eliminated. All of these have been fixed with the latest update.
While the update has been able to fix many of Forza Horizon 5’s most pressing issues, it hasn’t been able to fix every problem. The Forza Support Team has a list of over a hundred problems that require attention. While most of them are pretty minor bugs, they can be frustrating nonetheless.
Given the size and scope of Forza Horizon 5, the list of issues is pretty reasonable. Bugs and glitches are inevitable after launch, as thousands of players will be experiencing the game in ways that the developers would not have even anticipated. Thankfully, no serious game-breaking issue has been encountered so far, and we’re glad to see Playground Games working fast to fix whatever problems pop up.
