How to unlock your backpack expansion in Once Human?

In a survival game like Once Human, having a good, spacious backpack is crucial. Without it, players will struggle to collect and explore. You never know when you’ll find a valuable item, so having extra space is a big advantage.

With the option to expand your backpack now available, players can increase their storage capacity, but an element of randomness is involved.

Once players reach level 15, they can create a Gravel and Log On-the-go backpack expansion as a Memetic Specialization. After unlocking this specialization, they can expand their backpack using it.

However, getting the required Memetic can be hard because it’s based on RNG, but there is a guaranteed way to obtain it. When players reach the max level of 50, they can obtain all the specializations. Therefore, it’s better to wait until max level is reached.

2. Craft Backpack Expansion in Once Human

Now that you have unlocked the specialization, your next step will be crafting the Backpack Expansion using an Intermediate Workbench. The items required are as follows:

15x Rubber
10x Metal Scrap
10x Raw Hide

After gathering the items, head to the workbench, choose the Backpack Expansion recipe and hit “F” to craft it. Once it’s crafted, the item will appear in your inventory.

Note: There are three tiers of craftable Backpack Expansions: 40%, 60%, and 80% Weight Reduction, respectively. Each tier requires rarer materials to craft.
