The popularity of idol anime in recent years has been largely attributed to the growth of idol groups and K-pop culture. With captivating storytelling, the idol genre is starting to take the stage, whether it’s a boy band group or a girl squad.
One such idol series that quickly rose to fame was CloverWorks’ anime series “UniteUp!,” which was a part of the Winter 2023 schedule. The first season of the anime was very well received by the fans, and we have some exciting news for you all.
The first live event of Sony Music’s “next dimensional idol project” UniteUp!, the “sMiLea LIVE—Unite with You—” concert, revealed on Sunday that the UniteUp! television anime will get a second season.

About UniteUp!
UniteUp! is a Japanese mixed-media project created by Sony Music Entertainment Japan. It began with a YouTube channel in November 2021, which featured songs from various artists of different genres.
A television anime series for UniteUp! premiered on January 7, 2023. CloverWorks has produced the series.
The anime series will revolve around a singer Akira Kiyose who is scouted by sMiLea Production, a talent agency established by the legendary duo AneLa. Akira then forms an idol group with Banri Naoe and Chihiro Isuzugawa. The three aspire to make it big as idols.
