‘Undead Unluck’ gives off a whiff of sadistic comedy as the story centers on two unlikely allies with a common goal of death. Although it is primarily an action series, the interaction between the protagonists will make you laugh – especially Andy’s straightforward attitude.
The anime will officially premiere sometime in October. Meanwhile, preparations for an English dub also seem to be on its way.
On Friday, TMS Entertainment and Bang Zoom! Studios announced that they will hold open auditions for a role in the English dub of ‘Undead Unluck’. It will take place at this year’s Anime Expo at the Los Angeles Convention Center on July 4 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. PDT.
People from all ages, genders, and skill levels can participate regardless of any prior voice acting experience. Applicants will be selected randomly to audition during the time slot. Bang Zoom! Studios will invite the shortlisted finalists for a call-back audition.
A panel event for the anime will also take place at the convention on July 2 with voice actors Natsuki Hanae and Moe Kahara. Manga editor Takumi Hashimoto and producer Ryōta Hasegawa will also accompany them.

The anime looks fun to watch and would be a great platform for anyone who wants to kick off a voice-acting career. Even though it certainly won’t be a lead role, but a supporting role would also be a great grab in a currently ongoing shonen series.
About Undead Unluck
Undead Unluck is a manga series written and illustrated by Yoshifumi Tozuka. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump since January 2020. As of May 2023, it is collected into 16 volumes.
The story follows Fuuko Izumo who has the ability to bring bad luck to anyone she touches. Tormented by her ability, she decides to commit suicide but fate intervenes when she meets Andy, an undead person who wishes for the ‘best death.’ The pair joins the mysterious organization, Union, which consists of people like Fuuko and Andy, and go on missions given by a book called ‘Apocalypse.’
