Just days after the rumor of an anime adaptation of ‘Undead Unluck’ surfaced, the news has been confirmed by the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine.
Zombies are a thing of the past, undead people are the new trend. What’s the difference between them? Zombies are brain-dead monsters, while the undead are handsome immortals.
Andy, the upcoming anime’s protagonist, falls in the latter category and can do almost anything just to die. That’s the whole plot, basically.
Undead Unluck has been greenlit to receive an anime adaptation in 2023. As reported earlier, studio David Productions is animating the series.
David Productions has some awesome series like Fire Force and Jojo’s Bizarre Adventures under its belt, so I have high hopes for Undead Unluck.
You can check out this announcement video that shows Andy doing some insane stunts with his undead body.
As you might have guessed already, it will take a long time before a proper trailer can be released. The video can still give you a glimpse at the insane plot of Undead Unluck.
Next, we have a new visual that shows both Andy and his newfound friend/victim, Fuuko.
Fuuko is a young girl who has misfortune stuck to her. Whoever she touches ends up badly hurt or dead. The only person who can’t be bothered by her ability is Andy, and she, unfortunately, comes in contact with him.
Why unfortunately? Because Andy has no boundaries and he will creep her out in a single minute.
Another adorable illustration by manga artist Yoshifumi Tozuka is also out.
‘Undead Unluck’ is a light-hearted action comedy with lots of gag scenes. A perverted immortal and an unlucky girl will band together to survive in this harsh world. Andy definitely just wants to die soon, but will being with Fuuka will give him a new outlook on life?
