Episode 8 of ‘Undead Unluck’ is titled “Victhor.” The second phase of Spoil proves troublesome for Andy, but Shen has a plan.

Since the decay is much faster than Andy’s regeneration, Shen fights Spoil using his Nyoi-Kinko staff. Although Shen can land attacks from a distance, he can’t reach the regeneration core. Andy realizes it’s time to use his trump card and removes the chip from his head.

In seconds, Andy takes down Spoil and recovers the regeneration core. However, the Andy that returns to Earth is not the one we know.

2. Episode 9 Speculation

The next fight will be a fast-paced battle between Victhor and the entire Union. Since they have already experimented on Andy’s body a lot, the Union knows all about his abilities. Especially with Juiz as their leader, the Union will win this battle.

Fuuko will be able to do nothing but watch since this battle is extremely high level. The Union members have multiple negators they can use against Victhor. However, Fuuko’s Unluck didn’t affect Victhor, meaning he still has some trick up his sleeve.

Shen continues his relentless attacks with the Nyoi-Kinko staff that extends on his command. Shen’s ability forces the target to perform the opposite of its intended action. Spoil keeps trying to retreat but goes towards Shen because of his ability.

Regardless, Shen can’t directly approach Spoil’s regeneration core since his body will decay. Even Andy’s regeneration can’t keep up with its ability, so they must find a way to negate it. Andy wants to remove the moisture in the air around Spoil, which may stop the bacteria from spoiling.

Fuuko suggests going to space since there’s no atmosphere there. Shen asks Andy to pull out his trump card to endure the trip upward. The Nyoi-Kinko staff extends with Spoil on its end; Andy grabs onto it while they both leave the Earth’s atmosphere.

While flying upwards, Andy takes out the card in his head and throws it to Shen. Andy has grown a hundred times stronger with full access to all his memories. Almost like a different person entirely, Andy regenerates his entire body from his fingers and cuts down Spoil.

Andy breaks out the regeneration core, sending it to Earth with a severed arm. Upon landing in front of Shen, the arm regenerates into his entire body. Mui beams the core from Andy’s hand, and Shen takes a defensive stance. Andy begins asking about the year and month, which Shen answers.

Andy walks to Fuuko, but Shen stands in the way. Cheerfully, Shen greets him with Andy’s actual name, Victhor. Andy corrects him and then lands a kick even with Shen’s activated ability. The kick and the following punch are so strong that Victhor’s limbs break in the process.

Shen is completely incapacitated in seconds, and Fuuko runs up to Victhor and touches him. However, Unluck doesn’t strike. Fuuko tries to talk to Andy through Victhor, but it doesn’t work. Before Victhor kills Fuuko, Shen jumps in with an eight-fold strike that launches Victhor upward.

From a portal in the sky, the Union shows up with a coordinated series of attacks. Nico slices Victhor in half while burning him, which slows down his regeneration. However, Victhor cuts his finger off and regenerates his entire body. Amused at the strength of the Union, Victhor grabs a sword and invites them to battle.

Undead Unluck is a manga series written and illustrated by Yoshifumi Tozuka. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump since January 2020. As of May 2023, it is collected into 16 volumes.

The story follows Fuuko Izumo who has the ability to bring bad luck to anyone she touches. Tormented by her ability, she decides to commit suicide but fate intervenes when she meets Andy, an undead person who wishes for the ‘best death.’ The pair joins the mysterious organization, Union, which consists of people like Fuuko and Andy, and go on missions given by a book called ‘Apocalypse.’
