Andy and Fuuko fend off their next attack in episode 2 of Undead Unluck, titled “Union.”

After the meteorite stunt they pulled, both their danger levels have risen extremely high. Because of this, multiple high-level Negators were dispatched to hunt them down. Shen and Void are the first of the Negators and attack them the following day.

While Andy fights off Void, Shen captures Fuuko and chats with her on the sidelines. She asks him about his organization and whether they can join.

2. Episode 3 Speculation

Andy and Fuuko have finally found a way to stop the Negators from chasing them forever. Shen tells them about their top-secret organization filled with extraordinary people like them. Now that Void has already been killed, they must kill one more member and join the squad.

Their next objective is to survive for three more days. Andy will take Fuuko to Russia, where they can try hiding while preparing for the ambush. Since they have to kill a member of the Union, they will have to train.

3. Recap of Episode 2

Fuuko convinces Andy that the key to her ability is likeability and that the scale of unluck depends on how much she likes the person in contact. He explains everything about the Negators and takes her to the armory, where he suits her.

While they ride the motorcycle, the sky warps open, and a giant robot and another person jump out. One of them captures Fuuko and starts flirting with her immediately. The robot fights Andy and uses an ability that restrains his movement.

The other negator, Shen, explains their organization to Fuuko. She realizes they will be chosen forever because of their abilities. Andy also catches on to her idea and wants to kill the two Negators to free up the seats for them to join.

Andy realizes that the robot guy’s ability is probably Unavoidable, which negates external abilities when he’s in an attack stance. Andy uses this intel to take advantage of his ability and then kill him with a blood bullet.

He focuses on Shen next and spars with him for a while. Andy can’t determine his ability, and his legs get paralyzed mid-fight. Fuuko also accidentally steps into his line of sight and gets caught. Andy tells Shen to take Fuuko to the team and send him to a lab or wherever.

However, Fuuko rejects his offer and threatens to create massive Unluck if Shen doesn’t let them go. After seeing their dynamic, Shen decides it would be terrible if he split them up. He gives them valuable intel on the next ambush and says they can join the team if they kill one more member.

Undead Unluck is a manga series written and illustrated by Yoshifumi Tozuka. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump since January 2020. As of May 2023, it is collected into 16 volumes.

The story follows Fuuko Izumo who has the ability to bring bad luck to anyone she touches. Tormented by her ability, she decides to commit suicide but fate intervenes when she meets Andy, an undead person who wishes for the ‘best death.’ The pair joins the mysterious organization, Union, which consists of people like Fuuko and Andy, and go on missions given by a book called ‘Apocalypse.’
