Operation Metamorfall finally commenced in chapter 140, and it achieved its first objective in this chapter itself. It has been too smooth sailing for Fuuko, and everyone else as nothing is at stake, and everything is turning out to be just fine. 

Gina met her older self and learned about the secret of Unchange, which was, to be honest, quite basic and typical, to say the least. We got to see the past once again, which was quite heartbreaking.

Fuuko and her friends confront Uma Autumn on January 9, 1999. Fuuko rushes towards it. Gina gets into a flashback of her talking with Fuuko, where Fuuko tells her that she killed Gina in her previous loop. 

When Gina sees her past in the book, it will be on her to decide whether she will help them or not. Fuuko turns into a book, and Gina enters it. Inside the book, she sees herself talking with Fuuko. 

She is surprised to find herself looking so young, even when she was supposed to be 66 years old. Seeing Fuuko and herself so happy, she wonders why Fuuko killed her.  

She goes deeper into her past and finally finds out that she and Fuuko loved the same person. She is sitting in a bar when she sees the spirit of the dead Gina sitting in front of her.  

The spirit recognizes her past self. Gina requests her to teach the abilities. The dead Gina refuses at first, but after seeing Gina’s jacket, she agrees to teach her. Fuuko has written her name along with Andy’s on the jacket. 

She tells Gina that she can control Unchange with her heart. She needs to hold her feelings close to her heart, which will help her use her unchange. The dead Gina asks Gina whom she holds dearest to her heart.  

It is Fuuko, as she is her first best friend. The dead Gina tells her to protect their friendship no matter what. Gina returns to the battlefield and prepares to use her ability against Autumn.

Undead Unluck is a manga series written and illustrated by Yoshifumi Tozuka. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump since January 2020. As of May 2023, it is collected into 16 volumes.

The story follows Fuuko Izumo who has the ability to bring bad luck to anyone she touches. Tormented by her ability, she decides to commit suicide but fate intervenes when she meets Andy, an undead person who wishes for the ‘best death.’ The pair joins the mysterious organization, Union, which consists of people like Fuuko and Andy, and go on missions given by a book called ‘Apocalypse.’
