‘Undead Murder Farce,’ a new Crunchyroll anime series, may have a wordy title, but don’t be fooled: this comedy fantasy murder mystery series has managed to preserve the core of the traditional mystery plot while being hilarious.
The series is set in a world similar to our own, but it is also home to a great number of demons, monsters, and spirits. Japan was home to a large number of these beasties, but the vast majority were driven to extinction in The Great Purge as part of a Westernization plan.
On Tuesday, the official website for Yugo Aosaki’s Undead Girl Murder Farce anime debuted a promotional video, a new visual, and a new cast for the anime’s second half named ‘Struggle for the Diamond.’ The second season of the anime will begin airing on August 2.
The new trailer for the second part of the anime reveals the new characters that will be appearing in the next episode as well as some of the epic fight sequences.

Undead Girl Murder Farce is a Japanese novel series written by Yugo Aosaki.
The story takes place in 19th-century France, where the wife of vampire noble Jean Duchet Godard is murdered in her own home. With the local human authorities unwilling to properly investigate the case, Godard hires a pair of private detectives known to specialise in the supernatural: Tsugaru Shinuchi, a man with a mysterious birdcage, and his partner, Aya Rindou.
This enigmatic duo has come from faraway Japan for one purpose—to track down the man who stole both Aya’s body and Tsugaru’s humanity.
