Umayon TV Anime July 2020 Release Date, Confirmed

Uma Musume: Pretty Derby was an anime by P.A Works that drew a good deal of attention due to its “horse girl” protagonists.

It was a fresh take on the sports genre with comedic and slice of life elements. The series was a perfect blend of intense competition, honest friendships, and well planned comedic moments.

Umayon is a spinoff adapted from 4-Koma Manga based on Uma Musume: Pretty Derby. It will feature new designs for the characters, transforming them into smaller much cuter versions of themselves.

Cygames announced the release date and broadcast timings on their official Twitter page and webpage.

The Tweet announced that the anime will be broadcasted on TOKYO MX and BS11 from July 7, 2020, on every Tuesday at 21:45. It also announced the release of a new key visual revealing snippets from the anime.

Cygames had previously unveiled a promotional video in March during their live stream to reveal that the anime will premiere in July. The promotional video showed the cast performing the show’s theme song “Pyoitto Hareruya!”.

The official manga is drawn by Jet Kuma, and Ito Hitoshi is in charge of handling the storyboard. DMM.futureworks and W Toon Studio has been tasked with animating the series.

Furthermore, Miyajima Seiya is in charge of directing the series, its storyboard and character designs. The cast from the original show returns for the spinoff.

About the Anime

Uma Musume: Pretty Derby is a Manga drawn by Jet Kuma and storyboarded by Satoshi Itō. Kuma launched it on the Cygames Cycomics website in March 2017. It draws a world full of “horse girls” who wish to become the best racers in the world.

To do so, they must train at Tokyo’s Tracen Academy, The story begins with a horse girl being transferred from the countryside, who falls in love with Silence Suzuka’s style and wishes to race in the same team as her.
