Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed franchise has been and still is one of the most iconic series since the launch of the first title in 2007. Since then, players have wielded the hidden blade in beautiful locations and iconic settings.
The latest title, AC Valhalla, let us experience the era of Vikings, and although the game is receiving another DLC in August, Ubisoft already has plans to move on to newer titles.
Ubisoft is set to reveal several New Assassin’s Creed titles this Saturday at the Ubisoft Forward event.
The first of which will be Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Playing as Basim, the game takes place in Baghdad during the years of 860 and 870 AD when he starts off young as a thief being drafted into the Hidden Ones.
The game returns to the basics and roots of Assassin’s Creed, something that fans have really wanted since the series moved on to RPG-esque titles. We will also most probably see the game’s reveal at the event as well, considering that it might be the first title to launch.
Next are two titles, Red and Hexe/Neo, both a part of Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Infinity Project, Ubisoft’s upcoming platform for future Assassin’s Creed titles. However, they aren’t expected to release until at least early 2024.
Assassin’s Creed Red has been rumored for some time and takes players to Feudal Japan. Early concept arts depict a female samurai-like assassin, but players are likely to be able to play as both male and female. The game features similar RPG elements as in Odyssey and Valhalla.
Many fans believe that the rich historical setting would fit perfectly with the open-world franchise’s core pillars of stealth, freerunning traversal, and intense melee combat. Fans have been waiting for an Assassin’s Creed game in Feudal Japan since the franchise’s inception, and AC Red may finally deliver that experience.
Assassin’s Creed Hexe, previously rumored to be AC Neo, takes players to the franchise’s darkest setting yet, the witch trials era of 16th-century Europe during the latter stages of the Holy Roman Empire.
Another game, Project Jade, will also be announced, which is an Assassin’s Creed mobile title set in China. The final DLC for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, “The Forgotten Saga“, will also be announced at the event, marking the end of the game’s lifetime.
Console, PC, mobile, all are receiving games, but what about VR? Well, Ubisoft has that covered too, as rumored Assassin’s Creed VR title, Project Nexus, might also make an appearance at the event. The game also focuses on stealth gameplay, much like Mirage, and features iconic protagonists from the AC series.
So, all in all, Ubisoft has covered all gaming platforms and included titles based on its old-school Stealth gameplay as well as some titles on the newly adapted RPG elements, satisfying fans’ expectations of both kinds.
All these titles are expected to appear at Ubisoft Forward, which airs this Saturday, September 10 at 12 pm PT across major live streaming platforms.
