It’s been 15 years since the first Assassin’s Creed game was launched. The action-filled franchise has been a memorable part of everyone’s childhood, taking us from the lands of Greece to England. A new video takes us on a wholesome trip down memory lane.
Ubisoft has dropped a new live-action trailer titled “Leap into History,” celebrating the 15th anniversary of Assassin’s Creed.
The 90-second video clip featured glimpses of the mainline games and their antique settings, beginning with Altair, the first Assassin’s Creed title. After Altair jumps off a building, the trailer cuts to Eivor from AC Valhalla in the most recent setting in Assassin’s Creed.
Then there is a collection of the more recent games, showing some combat inspired by Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Origins. Afterward, the video shifts to Edward Kenway from Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag. Clearly, there is no chronological order for how the games appear in the trailer.
Assassins can be seen in battle with their legendary villains. Assassin’s Creed’s Ezio Auditore is indirectly mentioned in the trailer with reference to the iconic Venetian Carnival mission in Assassin’s Creed 2.
Viewers are asked to choose their “greatest enemy” in reference to an “emperor,” following which an assassin attempts to kill a figure dressed in Ancient Roman attire.
Ancient Rome is currently an unexplored territory for Assassin’s Creed fans and is one of the settings fans have pitched for AC Infinity. Among other historical settings in demand is Feudal Japan. Reportedly, the latest game is set in Aztec. However, Ubisoft has not confirmed this detail.
We can expect more details about the upcoming Assassin’s Creed titles at the annual Ubisoft Forward event.
Assassin’s Creed Infinity is currently in development.
