In the world of subscription-based streaming websites, Tubi is a cut above the rest as it provides free service. Yes, you read that right! Movies, videos, and now anime can be streamed absolutely free!
Tubi has now teamed up with Toei to bring us anime goodness for free on its streaming site. If you cannot afford the subscription fee of Crunchyroll, Funimation, or HULU and left Netflix after the first trial month, then this news is going to make you ecstatic!
Streaming website, Tubi, has entered into a licensing agreement with anime powerhouse Toei Animation. The deal provides Tubi with the right to stream seven anime series spanning 500 episodes.
One Piece, the blockbuster anime series’ first 130 episodes, and its six special installments will be streamed. Not just One Piece, the legendary basketball anime, Slam Dunk, will also be streamed on Tubi.
The six One Piece specials that will be available on Tubi include:
- 3D2Y
- Episode of Sabo
- Adventure of Nebulandia
- Heart of Gold
- Episode of East Blue
- Episode of Skypiea
Other anime series to be streamed are:
- Toriko
- Saint Seiya: Saintia Sho
- Saint Seiya – Hades
- GeGeGe no Kitaro
- Dr. Slump
Tubi claims that it will be the first service to stream Dr. Slump and Saint Seiya – Hades with English subtitles.
Lachlan Murdoch, CEO of Fox, commented that Tubi is soon to become a “billion-dollar business.” If its quest to add anime to its catalog continues, the service will undoubtedly receive some loyal consumers. Such websites are also helping in the globalization of anime.
Confirmed dates for the anime’s release have not been revealed yet. Tubi is currently available in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Australia.
We are hoping that Tubi can slowly extend its deal to other anime studios as well so that fans across the world can have access to various anime.
