3. Recap of Episode 11:
Tournament day arrives as everyone from all the schools and clubs prepares in the morning to finally fight for the sake of their pride as well as their club; the day they’ve both been anxious about as well as excited for has made its debut.
Kirisaki and Kazemai also do their friendly greetings as they register for their rooms, and their teams find out they stay in the same buildings. As Minato looks outside, he notices Nikaido in the room next over.
The practice sessions kick it off as it finally begins feeling like a proper tournament Kazemai stay calm and relaxed as they take one after another shot. The group looks at the match schedule as they prepare their strategies and see what teams they’ll be up against.
Nikaido also gets a lot of praise for teaching his entire team but is on edge due to the tournament and is merely frustrated at the compliments. He also runs into Seiya in the bathroom and again starts to pick a fight for no particular reason.
He has to win this, or Tsujimine will never evolve from its state all these years; only a win in the tournament will solidify their change and make everyone realize how far they’ve managed to come. Shigeyuki also watches the game from his rest-bed, giving Nikaido some motivation.
Minato gets a minor injury on his thumb, which may affect his shooting form, and everyone feels a slight tinge of anxiety because of it. They line up for their first match as Tsujimine’s, Nikaido, and all of Kazmai take beautiful shots at the target.
Unfortunately, Seiya misses due to the anxiety from Nikaido’s words and Minato’s injury finally starting to get to him. However, Minato has begun changing up his draw, and it takes a much longer draw than usual to change up the rhythm and bring the team back together.
Nikaido recalls his training period and thinks about how far their team has come from the early practice days, and all his feelings flow directly into the draw of his bow as he manages to land yet another shot; this one wasn’t a draw by him alone, but one with his team behind it.
The win, however, goes to Kazemai through a very close battle, but Nikaido’s team takes it in good sport, but the lessons they learned through it were much more important than winning the game. Masaki praises the team on finally finding the ikiai unique to their team.
