The long-awaited season two of Tsukiuta was initially set to release in 2019. It was pushed to April 2020 and was delayed again to June 2020 due to the ongoing pandemic.
Following the series of delays, Tsukiuta The Animation 2 has been delayed yet again. The TV anime will now air in October 2020, instead of June 2020.
This notice was put up on the anime’s website, where the production team apologized for the delay.
With the announcement regarding the release date, two series of themed CDs were also released, which will feature the opening theme “Paint It Black” by Six Gravity and another “White Sparks” by Procellarum.
They will be going on sale from June 26 and will also include a lottery ticket. The winner of the lottery will receive an invitation to see the anime’s finale episode at a special screening in the Kanto region.
The series has gotten a new studio with great staff. Yukio Nishimoto (The Galaxy Railways, Justeen, Music Girls) will be directing the anime at Children’s Playground Entertainment (Cerberus).
Natsuko Takahashi will handle scripts while Michinori Chiba and Ai Yokoyama will be adapting the original character designs for Animation.
