On January 20, Crunchyroll announced the cast for the English dub of the Trigun Stampede anime. It had been previously announced that Johnny Yong Bosch would return from the original 1998 Trigun anime to reprise his role.
The anime stars Johnny Yong Bosch as Vash, Kristen McGuire as Vash (Young), Austin Tindle as Knives, Megan Shipman as Knives (Young), Sarah Roach as Meryl, Ben Bryant as Roberto, Lydia Mackay as Rosa, Emily Fajardo as Rem.
The series is directed by Kenji Muto at Studio Orange. Shin Okashima, Tatsuro Inamoto, and Yoshihisa Ueda are handling series composition and Tatsuya Kato is in charge of music composition. The English Dub of the series is directed by Jeremy Inman, with assistant director Dallas Reid.
The series premiered on the TV Tokyo, TV Osaka, TV Aichi, TV Setouchi, TV Hokkaido, and TVQ channels on January 7. Hulu and Crunchyroll also began streaming the series worldwide.
The plot of the Trigun Stampede revolves around Vash the Stampede, a gunman on the run with a “60 billion double dollar” bounty on his head. He earned his “stampede” nickname due to the destruction that bounty hunters bring to any town they visit in search of him.
The Trigun anime is an adaptation of a manga by the same name by Yasuhiro Nightow which ran from 1995 to 1997.
