This one is sure to take your breath(of the wild) away.
Digital Dreams on YouTube recently posted some utterly gorgeous footage of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild running at 8K with a ray traced global illumination (RTGI) shader in place. To be specific, this is the Wii-U version of the game running through the CEMU emulator.
Working together with the RTGI shader is the REVO Reshade Redux mod which does away with some of the less life-like aspects of the game. It resolves harsh contrast and saturation issues, making for a more quality video output. The RTGI is the one created by Pascal Gilcher whose Patreon you can check out here.
Nintendo is notorious for keeping its games strictly exclusive to the Switch. The only way to get Switch-exclusives off the device is to run it through an emulator like it’s been done here. So, until Nintendo eases up or releases a console that can run games in high-res, enjoy Breath of the Wild in 8K by pressing play on the video below.
Here’s a rig rundown of the beast that’s pulling this video off:
Mainboard: Asus Prime x470-Pro
CPU: Ryzen 9 3900x 4,5Ghz on all cores
RAM: 32 GB Corsair Vengeance
GPU: ASUS TUF RTX 3090 @ 2100mhz
SSD: 2TB Crucial mx500
HDD: 4TB Seagate Barracuda
AIO WC: Corsair Hydro H100x
Monitors: Samsung C32JG52
