Historical Japan is not a new concept in anime, but when Japanese swords are personified into bishounens, that’s something worth more than a boring history lesson.
This is exactly what Touken Ranbu, the game and anime has. You’re probably aware the Touken Ranbu Online game is the current talk of town and has introduced some more jaw-dropping characters to drool over.
What if I tell you that you will get to relive the game’s story once more pretty soon?
Believe it or not, the Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru Special Event: Hanamaru Haru Ichiban! announced that the production team is planning a three part trilogy anime film series called “Toku Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru ~Setsugetsuka~”
The first film is likely going to be released in 2022. But, that’s not all there is to this exciting news. Fans will also get to see the new character Yamanbagiri Chōgi voiced by Kengo Takanashi.
The 3 anime films will be based on the new Touken Ranbu Online game that lets its players travel to the past from the futuristic 2205.
The time travel entrusts the players with personified fighting swords and enables them to strategize a plan to win the historic war.
So far, little is known about the exact story of the films but judging by the characters and the roles they have in the game we are sure ready to get an awesome surprise.
