After a tricky mission and a memorable summer festival, the Touken Ranbu film trilogy is back with the greatest challenge the Bishonens have ever faced.
The franchise’s latest film trilogy project, Toku Touken Ranbu, has been a hot topic among historical fantasy lovers. Its first two parts were completely opposite, as one showed a life-threatening mission, and the other was all about the sword boys’ wholesome summer.
As all good things must end, it’s the same for the Toku Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru ~Setsugetsuka~ film trilogy.
Part 3, titled ‘Hana no Maki,’ is scheduled for release on September 1, 2022, and the franchise has revealed a dynamic trailer for it. The video also previews the film’s theme song, ‘Ōka no Tayori’ (The Tidings of the Cherry Blossoms).
As I said in the beginning, this will be the boys’ most challenging task, and the trailer proves it. The video takes us straight to the point by showing that the space-time transfer machine has been destroyed.
Adding to the boys’ existing problems, it is revealed that three units dispatched in different periods are now stuck there. Unable to communicate with the citadel, the eighteen swordsmen are forced to spend time in the Heinan, Sengoku, and Edo periods.
The master asks the remaining ones to repair the machine and rescue their fellow swordsmen before they get into any uninvited trouble. As expected, the ones left in the citadel also include Yamatonokami and Kashuu, who take on the responsibility of rescuing their comrades.
