Vegeta, from the Dragon Ball series, is a character of immense depth and evolution throughout the series. Starting out as a formidable Saiyan prince, Vegeta turns from a fierce rival to a crucial ally of Earth’s defenders.
Vegeta and his rivalry with Goku drive much of his development in the series. From wanting to surpass Goku to protecting the Earth, Vegeta truly embodies a character of great resolve and power. This post is dedicated to his best moments in the series.
Vegeta vs Zarbon
This was a really fierce battle in Dragon Ball Z that put Vegeta’s strength and determination to the test as Vegeta initially lost in his fight against Zarbon.
He was allowed to recover in Frieza’s ship, after which he finds his way to Zarbon again and thoroughly crushes Zarbon with the help of his Zenkai boost that he acquired due to the injuries he sustained in the previous battle.
Vegeta vs Reacoom
This battle took place in Dragon Ball Z when Vegeta was clearing through Frieza’s forces in the Namek Saga. They encounter the Ginyu force to which Reacoom belongs. Reacoom steps up to fight Gohan, Krillin and Vegeta declaring that he can take on all three at once.
Vegeta, knowing how strong someone of the Ginyu Forces would be, goes all out from the get-go unleashing all of his deadly moves on Reacoom getting aid from Gohan and Krillin as well. However all these attacks seems to do no damage on Reacoom other than ripping his clothes.
This struggle of their continued with the goal of holding the Ginyu forces until Goku showed up.
Vegeta vs Android 19
Andriod 19 was maybe one of the biggest threats at that point in Dragon Ball Z. As Goku wasn’t present, it was only Vegeta who was capable enough to defeat the andriods
After Vegeta transforms into the Super Saiyan mode, we get to see one of the most one-sided beat downs in Dragon Ball as Vegeta severely outpowers Android 19 and kills him.
Vegeta vs Toppo
This is a great fight that took place in Dragon Ball Super during the Tournament of Power where both adversaries seemed equally matched. Toppo being Universe 11’s next candidate for the title of the God of Destruction was a really powerful foe for Vegeta.
Both of them went all out from the beginning of the battle but it seemed as if Toppo had the advantage in the beginning due to his brute strength. Vegeta tried to counter this with his agility and tactics.
As the battle escalates, Vegeta’s desire to protect his friends grants him a new evolution: Super Saiyan Blue, which increases his speed and strength manifold, allowing him to defeat Toppo.
Vegeta’s Second Death
This is perhaps one of the most emotional moments in Dragon Ball Z. When Vegeta was driven by his desire to surpass Goku to reclaim his pride as a warrior, he allows himself to be controlled by the evil wizard Babidi, becoming Majin Vegeta.
He chooses to battle Goku in this state to prove himself to be stronger. However, at some point of the battle he realizes his true strength his much greater than any strength that he obtains from Babidi and decides to turn on him.
On realizing that he isn’t capable of defeating Majin Buu, he decides to make the ultimate sacrifice by releasing all of the energy in him to make a massive explosion in the hopes of killing Majin Buu along with it leaving behind a devastated Goku and Trunk.
Vegeta Protects Bulma
This was perhaps one of the most chivalrous acts made by Vegeta in the series. Due to a petty fight that broke out during Bulma’s birthday party, Bulma slapped Beerus, who was ruining the party with his fight.
Beerus slapped Bulma back, hurting her and this really enrages Vegeta. Vegeta transforms into his Super Saiyan mode, screaming at Beerus, the god of destruction, and attacks him. This of course wasn’t enough to defeat the great Beerus, but it was indeed an incredible display of power and Vegeta’s affection towards Bulma.
Vegeta’s First Fight Against Goku
This is probably one of the most loved fights in the anime and also maybe one of the best fights in the Dragon Ball series.
As their fight begins, both opponents seemed to be evenly matched, both pushing themselves to their limits and trying out multiple strategies to beat the other.
Amidst this, Vegeta relalises Goku’s potential as a Saiyan and feels frustrated. He then transforms into a Great Ape which gives him a small power-up but in the end, he is finally defeated by Goku when he got the aid of his allies.
