As we all know, the My Hero Academia manga is nearing its much-anticipated conclusion. Ever since its debut, the anime has captivated fans with its compelling characters, intense battles, and themes of heroism and friendship.

As we gear up for the finale of the manga, this is the perfect time to revisit some of the most exhilarating scenes that showcase the essence of what makes My Hero Academia so special. Let’s look back at those scenes that made our jaws drop or made us shed a tear or two, or both.

Deku vs Bakugo

At the end of season three of My Hero Academia, Bakugo calls Izuku out to talk in the middle of the night. Bakugo confronts Deku about his quirk. Having connected a few dots, Bakugo manages to find out that Deku received his power from All Might. He later expresses the guilt that he felt, thinking that All Might was forced to retire because of himself.

Their battle started with Bakugo having the advantage initially; however, the battle scales, and Deku becomes capable of drawing out 8% of one for all’s potential, which gave him the upper hand in the battle. However, Bakugo emerged victorious at the end of the battle, triumphing over the one-for-all user and swearing to surpass Deku.

Ochako Convinces the Masses to Let Deku Stay

This may not be as much of an important scene to some, at least to the people that watch MHA solely for the fight scenes. However, this is a really emotional incident that occurred at the end of the 6th season, where Ochako manages to connect the hearts of the heroes and the regular people who were really uneasy with the state the world was in.

When the A class pulled Deku back in to protect him, all the refugees protested against housing a time bomb in a shelter. At this point, Ochako takes a megaphone and gets to work: she uses nothing but her words to prove to the public that Deku is nothing but a regular high school boy trying to protect everyone while he himself is in pain.

Who will protect heroes when they are suffering? Ochako realizes that it’s surely the people that heroes can rely on during desperate times.

Deku vs Shoto

This fight was probably the most important fight for Shoto throughout the series. This is because Deku tried to reach Shoto’s heart amidst the fight, which allowed Shoto to accept all parts of himself: his fire and his ice quirk were both a part of his identity.

The fight began with Shoto using his ice attacks and Deku thwarting them with his Delaware smash each time, sacrificing each finger for every attack. After Deku managed to get Shoto to use his fire side, the match took a huge turn, and their clash ended up destroying the stadium. The match ended with Shoto emerging as the victor as Deku was blown out of bounds.

No account of this fight would be over without emphasizing how amazingly the fight was animated. It wouldn’t be an understatement to say that this may have been one of the best-animated scenes BONES has ever created up to that point.

Endeavor and Hawks vs Nomu

This was one hell of a fight that took place during the 4th season of MHA which helped Endeavor to prove himself to the public that he is worthy of the title of No.1 Hero. This is quite an important achievement for Endeavor as he didn’t really feel accepted as the No.1 hero due to All Might’s sudden retirement.

Their fight began with Endeavor feeling pretty much overwhelmed due to the Nomu’s immense strength and regenerative abilities. Even with assistance from Hawks, they both were in quite a pinch. However, with the entire world, including his family watching, the former UA graduate musters all his strength and, with Plus Ultra in his heart, uses his Prominence Burn to incinerate the enemy.

Shigaraki’s Awakening

This scene has probably given any watcher the chills down their spine. During the 6th season of MHA, when Shigaraki was having all of All for One’s quirks manifested in him, he also gained a lot of physical enhancements that made him a bigger monster than he was to begin with.

His quirk: Decay, was already really powerful to begin with. Now, Shigaraki is capable of transmitting his Decay through the ground without direct contact. Besides this, even while having his quick erased by Eraser head, his superhuman strength that was comparable to All Might also turned out to be such a threat that even many of the top 10 heroes, along with Deku and Bakugo, were not enough to suppress him.

Mirko vs The High End Nomus

This is most likely one of the best fights in MHA, where Mirko, the No.5 hero, proved her true worth. When she infiltrates Garaki’s laboratory in order to stop his plans, Garaki sets 5 high-end nomus on her. These nomu’s have intellect and are Garaki’s most powerful creations.

Mirko fights all 5 of them head-on and manages to kill one singlehandedly. In the aftermath of the battle, she ended up losing an arm and a leg, but according to Mirko, she lives her life without. So, she used all her abilities to track down Shigaraki within the laboratory and destroyed the walls of the container Shigaraki was kept in.

Considering the fact that Endeavor and Hawks found it really hard to defeat a regular nomu, Mirko’s feat of defeating the high-end nomu all on her own is nothing short of amazing.

Star and Stripe vs Shigaraki

Although she had a really short screen time, Star surely made a huge impact in the anime. On hearing about the immense threat that Shigaraki posed to the world, America’s top hero: Star and Stripe, comes to Japan’s aid. Star has a severely overpowered quirk: New Order, that gives her the ability to impose a rule that allows her to control the world around her, so long as she uses the correct name of the person or thing she wishes to impose the rule on.

This incredible quirk, however, backfired on Star since Shigaraki, at that point, was struggling with his identity. He identified as both Shigaraki and All for One. This nullified the effect of her quirk. Shigaraki then used an opening to use decay on Star and steal her quirk, which he succeeded in. However, as a final attempt of retaliation, Star imposed a final rule using New Order: New Order will rebel against all other quirks.

This caused New Order to self-destruct within Shigaraki and destroy several other quirks within Shigaraki, which made Star’s ultimate sacrifice worth it.

Midoriya vs Class A

If there’s any episode from the 6th season that screams “Shounen”, it’s probably this one. Watching this episode has probably made every hair stand up on the body of every fan as class A approached their friend Deku to bring him back to his hero academy.

The entire class joins forces and uses all of their strength to get a hold of Deku. However, more powerful Deku thwarts all their attempts and tries to flee. In the end, with the combined effort of Mina, Ochako, Bakugo, Shoto and Iida, they manage to catch Deku.

After this, Bakugo apologizes to Deku for how he mistreated him and reassures Deku, telling him that they would support him when he needed help. Any fan that hadn’t cried at this point should probably have their eyes checked!

One for All vs All for One

This is the most iconic battle in the entirety of the MHA series, which broke the hearts of the whole world as they watched their favorite No.1 hero, All Might, being forced to retire.

After Deku and the others managed to safely evacuate from the scene, All Might swore to defeat All for One once and for all. They exchanged a few blows and All Might seemed to be overpowered at the time. This is when All for One points out that All Might isn’t as strong as he was before and suggests that he doesn’t have One for All anymore.

At this point, the entire ward was destroyed, with All Might in his skinny and powerless state, and the entire country was staring in shock at the state of the Symbol of Peace. To respond to the several thousands of his fans all around, All Might musters the remnants of his strength and completely defeats All for One, thereby extinguishing the last of his flame of One for All, and officially retiring on the spot.
