A whole new lineup of formidable characters will be introduced in Thousand Year Blood War Anime, just as Bleach enters its final arc. With the introduction of new characters, fans have been comparing the strength of all the overpowered characters.
Yhwach, the son of Soul King, still reigns supreme and remains the strongest character in the entirety of the Bleach franchise to date. Yhwach’s Soul Distribution ability coupled with his Almighty power, makes him surpass all his competitors by leaps and bounds.

15Shunsui Kyoraku
Shunsui Kyoraku is the current Captain-Commander of the Gotei 13, whose relaxed and laidback demeanor has fooled many people into thinking he’s harmless. But the former captain of Eight Division is so strong that he could fight eye-to-eye with Coyote Shark without unleashing his Zanpakuto.
His Bankai can affect everyone within its immediate radius, which is why he rarely unleashes it. His Shikai can manipulate shadows and can even counteract powerful Cero blasts easily.
14Askin Nakk Le Varr
Askin, a member of the Schutzstaffel, might seem quite eccentric and laid-back but wields the deadly ability called Deathdealing. To activate Deathdealing, Askin has to simply ingest any substance he wishes and manipulate the amount of that substance in his target’s body.
He can raise the levels of that substance to a lethal dose in his target, killing them instantly.

Toshiro Hitsugaya’s ice-element Zanpakuto is a perfect antithesis to his own hot-blooded nature. Even though he’s one of the youngest captains of Gotei 13, he has a wonderful development in his skills after his encounter with Aizen. His Bankai grows so powerful that it defeats Gerard’s Miracle by freezing it.

A former member of Gotei 13, Kisuke is one of the most intelligent characters in the series. Ichigo could defeat Aizen only because of Kisuke’s Kido spell. Kisuke’s Bankai was so formidable that it even managed to defeat Askin, a member of the esteemed Schutzstaffel.

Gremmy Thoumeaux might be the closest person who fits the description of a ‘magician’ in Bleach. Gremmy’s The Visionary can turn his wildest fantasies into reality if he wishes to.

10Uryu Ishida
The very future of Wandenreich, Uryu Ishida is the successor of Yhwach and a member of Schutzstaffel. He is an excellent marksman, second only to Lille. He is the only Quincy who survived Yhwach’s Auswahlen and retained his powers.
Uryu’s Antithesis can completely reverse anything any event which has occurred between his two chosen targets, turning the tables on his opponents when circumstances are dire.

Gotei 13’s eleventh division captain, Kenpachi Zaraki, never felt a need to go through the formalities of training with a Zanpakuto, using his brute strength to crush his opponents. He defeated one of the strongest captains of Gotei 13, Retsu Unohana when he was just a child.
Kenpachi has poor control over his spiritual energy, but this very unpredictable nature of his energy makes him fun. His potent spiritual energy can span miles and send anyone inside his attack range into a state of confusion and paralysis.
8Jugram Haschwalth
Jugram is the Grandmaster of the Sternritter and acts as the second-in-command of Wandenreich. Jugram transfer any misfortune which occurs within his radius to those who are experiencing good fortune with his Schrift, The Balance.
To ensure the smooth movement of the Wandenreich troops, Jugram can also create a star-shaped portal. Being the substitute emperor allows him to wield some of Yhwach’s power, giving him a god-like persona.
7Genryusai Shigekuni Yamamoto
One doesn’t manage to survive for a Millenium and rule over the Soul Society without being powerful. Captain-Commander Yamamoto is one of the strongest and most experienced shinigami out there, wielding expertise in Shumpo, Kido, and Hakudo.
His Zanpakuto is the oldest fire-type Zanpakuto, destroying everything within its radius even in its Shikai form. If his Bankai is left alone, it can swallow the entirety of Soul Society within minutes.
6Lille Barro
Lille Barro isn’t just your average Sternritter, he’s the leader of Yhwach’s Schutzstaffel. Lille’s rifle can shoot through any target he wishes with highly precise accuracy, and it can even bypass enemy defenses.
Lille is the only Quincy who can activate a secondary Vollständig, granting him terrifying powers such as teleportation and rapid regeneration. The wings he gains in his Vollständig form can shoot projectiles and blasts of energy that destroy entire cities.
5Gerard Valkyrie
Gerard Valkyrie is a member of Wandenreich’s Stenritter squad who claims that he’s the biggest, strongest, and fastest of all the Quincy.
His claims aren’t baseless since Gerard has the unique ability, The Miracle, to manipulate probability, which allows him to turn even the most impossible events into reality.
Gerard can also shape other feelings and thoughts to harness them into various powers. If Yhwach hadn’t used the Auswählen ability on him, he would have never died.
4Ichibe Hyosube
Ichibe Hyosube is the leader of the Zero division of the Royal Guard which protects the Soul King. He wielded the fearsome ability of true name manipulation, which allows him to have power over the true names of his targets.
True name manipulation allows him to hurt his opponents by cutting up true names and creating barriers. If Yhwach didn’t have The Almighty, Ichibe would have made him bite the dust with ease.
3Sousuke Aizen
Don’t let the politeness and pretty looks of Aizen Sousuke fool you. The former captain of Gotei 13’s fifth division killed his subordinates in cold blood and betrayed the Soul Society.
Besides having tremendous intellect, his swordsmanship is so powerful that he can handle Hollow-mask-enhanced Ichigo with just his sealed Zanpakuto.
2Ichigo Kurosaki
Ichigo might have been the weakest shinigami at the very beginning of the series, but by the end, he ends up outclassing most of the characters. His endless spiritual energy, his Quincy heritage and his diverse stock of abilities such as FullBrings, Hollow forms, and Bankai allow him to be incredibly versatile.
Besides, Ichigo wasn’t born with most of his abilities and his hard-working nature is his main charm. He worked hard to improve his swordsmanship, mastering his Zanpakuto in the Thousand Year Blood War arc.
1Yhwach (with Soul King)
Yhwach, the Emperor of Wandenreich and the son of Soul King, is the strongest character in the entirety of the Bleach franchise. He can bestow abilities to other people, manipulate time, and has an endless store of spiritual power since he absorbed Soul King.
Not only can he grant abilities to others with his Soul Distribution ability, but he can also steal their abilities back after they have cultivated them.
He can use the limitless amount of spiritual power he possesses to forge spirit weapons of any kind. This energy can be used to form mindless eyeball creatures to attack shinigami as well.
And if things don’t go according to his grand plans, Yhwach can simply activate The Almighty, which allows him to alter the future into whatever he desires.

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War is the final arc of the Bleach franchise. It premiered on October 11, 2022, and its 52 episodes are streamed by Hulu.
The arc deals with Yhwach, the leader of the Quincies, who has declared war on the Soul Society. Ichigo and the Soul Reapers will face this despicable enemy.
