This unknown monster appears from the river Han in Seoul and kills several people. Gang-du must do anything to save his daughter Hyun-seo from this maniac.
According to Joon-ho, the idea for this film occurred to him after reading an article about a deformed fish with an S shaped spine which was found in the Han river.

The film centres around a mysterious entity referred to as “He Who Walks Behind The Rows” which encourages the children of the town to murder the town’s adults.
A couple is on the way to the same town to ensure a successful corn harvest and unexpected things happen when they reach the town.
The film still has a cult following and it led to a franchise of films inspired from this one. This one is a classic must watch for horror film junkies.

Directed by Jim Mickle, the film is one of the most gruesome takes on cannibalism that will definitely give you goosebumps. Some of the images are quiet gruesome, but it is worth a watch if you don’t mind blood and massacre.

Veronica Franz and Severin Fiala’s film has twin boys, Elias and Lukas in the centre, who are suspicious of their mother’s identity after a plastic surgery.
With her faced wrapped in bandages, the twins are determined to find out the real identity of the woman living in their house. Another shivering tale which combines psychology and horror.
6 Crawl (2019)

A father (Barry Pepper) and daughter (Kaya Scodelario) along with their pet dog gets trapped in their home during a hurricane in Florida. They must save themselves from the flood water, but unfortunately that’s not the only problem out there.
If you’re looking for films with natural horror tropes, this is the right pick. It follows the path of Jaws or Moby Dick, where humans are forced to fight natural forces beyond their control. It’s definitely no less horrifying than a film with ghosts and monsters.

You’ll find a lot to do with nuns and fathers, and yes, it’s quite horrific.

Directed by Jeremy Dyson and Andy Nyman, the film talks about Professor Phillip Goodman (played by Andy Nyman himself) who is determined to solve the mystery behind three unexplainable events.
He embarks on a journey to solve these three events, all actually connected to his own life. Even if you’re too familiar with the tropes in this one, you can enjoy a quite cozy English feel as you watch it.

Yes, we are most likely living this horror film at the moment. Jokes apart, unless you don’t like major deja-vus, this critically acclaimed film is surely worth your time.

A sequel is said to be in development too.

Wait, doesn’t that mean everyone, because you’re either a cat lover or a hater right?
Jokes apart, another Stephen King adaptation, Pet Semetary is quite a dark film that tells the story of a Dr Louis Creed and his family, who lose their pet cat in an accident and bury it in a cemetery.
However, that is not the end and unknown secrets haunt the family unexpected ways. Highly recommended.
