Top 10 Shonen Anime that Desperately Need a Second Season 

Who doesn’t like unpredictable plots and energetic fights between amazing characters. We all love such shonen anime. But it is so disappointing when they stop animating the anime after the first season. Especially if the first season ended either with an open ending or on a cliffhanger. 

We all know that pain and longing that wrenches our heart. So here’s a list of Top 10 shonen anime that desperately need a second season which we all might agree on. 

10. The God of Highschool

All types of combat were permitted in the God of High School event, which sought to identify the best fighter among Korean high school students and granted the winner one wish. Expert taekwondo practitioner Jin Mo-Ri entered the tournament and, driven by personal motivation, became friends with swordswoman Yu Mi-Ra and karate practitioner Han Dae-Wi.  

Even while Mo-Ri was looking forward to the challenging matches, there was a greater mystery surrounding the competition. A political person named Park Mu-Jin observed the bouts with ulterior motives, and Mo-Ri, Dae-Wi, and Mi-Ra were determined to find out what the real purpose of the competition was.

The dead unexpectedly start to rise in Highschool of the Dead, throwing Japan into anarchy and creating a nightmare nation. After being bitten by the undead, Takashi Komuro, a high school student, is compelled to kill his best buddy. He and his closest friend almost leave their school, only to discover society has already fallen apart because they are determined to protect Rei Miyamoto, the girlfriend of their best friend. 

They quickly join forces with other survivors, such as Saeko Busujima, Kouta Hirano, Saya Takagi, and Shizuka Marikawa. Facing the horrifying issue with their combined strength they set out on a perilous adventure together.

Simon and Kamina are raised in a remote underground town, with no knowledge of the outside world. Simon is a meek boy with no ambition, but Kamina is bold and determined to make it to the top. Simon finds the key to Lagann, a war machine, one day when he comes across a peculiar thing. Yoko Littner, a fiery redhead with a big rifle, helps Simon and Kamina repel an onslaught from the surface using Lagann. 

Yoko, Kamina, and Simon headed off to explore and quickly get involved in a conflict with the “Beastmen,” that terrorize people by using strong robots known as Gunmen. The group of three, together with other survivors, must overcome difficult challenges in order to retake the surface and gradually solve a cosmic-scale enigma that will forever alter their reality. 

7. Samurai Champloo

Waitress Fuu unintentionally stirs up trouble at a teahouse. She then goes on to find the assistance of two samurai: Jin, a cool-headed and proficient ronin, and Muten, a ferocious warrior. Mugen and Jin are apprehended after damaging the teahouse and unintentionally killing the magistrate’s kid. Fuu, however, saves them and employs them as bodyguards. 

Along the way, they encounter a number of crazy encounters as they search for a strange warrior who has a strong scent of sunflowers. They also attempt to prevent Mugen and Jin from killing one another. The show combines comedy, action, and fierce sword fighting.

Two reporters, Meryl Stryfe and Roberto De Niro look for a notorious bandit Vash the Stampede on the desert planet Noman’s Land.but turns out that Vash is not the dangerous criminal that people have been claiming he is; instead, they find him to be a calm, carefree traveler. The reason for his hazardous reputation is really the destructive deeds of his twin brother, Knives Millions. 

Jeneora Rock, a settlement, and its power plant are in danger when bounty hunters look for Vash because of the large price on his head. While defending the village with his amazing gunslinging prowess, Vash soon has to face the worst evil of all—his brother Knives and the vast deadly force at his disposal. 

5. Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress

A mystery virus causes horrible creatures known as “Kabane” to appear in a world devastated by the industrial revolution. Kabane feed on humans and turn into zombies when bitten. One of the last civilizations to exist is that of Hinomoto, an island surrounded by enormous walls and heavily armored trains. 

Ikoma constructs and maintains these trains, and he has developed a potent weapon that can puncture the steel-coated hearts of the Kabane. Anxious to demonstrate his mettle in combat, he soon discovers that his chance arrives far sooner than he thought as the undead danger gets past their defenses.

In 2071, the emergence of the monstrous Aragami—who are resistant to conventional weapons and destroy everything in their path—threatens to wipe out civilisation. In response, the group Fenrir creates “God Eaters,” unique people with Oracle cells pumped into them so they may use God Arcs, the only weapon that can destroy Aragami. 

Lenka Utsugi is a New-Type God Eater who uses a God Arc that can be used as a gun or as a blade. Lenka, one of Fenrir’s most potent weapons, has to become proficient with it to wipe out the Aragami, which represent humanity’s final chance of survival. 

3. Parasyte: The Maxim

The alien parasites in Parasyte appear out of nowhere on Earth, taking control of human minds and turning their victims into vicious predators. Shinichi Izumi, 16, contracts the parasite, but it only manages to take control of his right hand since it cannot enter his brain. The parasite Migi has to reside next to Shinichi in order to flourish. 

They form an uneasy alliance as a group to defend themselves against other parasites who perceive them as a threat to their species. As they navigate this dangerous new reality, Shinichi has to deal with the alien presence inside of him in addition to trying to save humanity.

Ganta Igarashi’s life takes a terrible turn when the “Red Man,”, massacres his entire class. After being falsely accused of carrying out the massacre, Ganta receives a death sentence and is transferred to Deadman Wonderland, a deranged prison amusement park where prisoners entertain the public with lethal actions. 

Ganta encounters violent prisoners and a cruel collar around his throat that only slows down in response to victories in the prison’s deadly games. Ganta should discover the truth about the “Red Man” and clear his name as he struggles to survive in this harsh environment.
