7Taishi Gotanda
Taishi Gotanda is an award-winning director and one of the most crucial characters in the anime. He is also one of the select few who knows that Ruby and Aqua are the progeny of the idol Ai. Taishi helps Aqua in entering the acting world and his endeavors in trying to find out who their father is.
Taishi acts as a mentor to the Hoshino twins, helping them refine their talents and mindsets. His interactions with Aqua help him stay afloat and not turn to the dark side multiple times.
6Frill Shiranui
Frill is a subtle sort of background character. She is usually there for the enigmatic appearances and laughs, but she is a true talent in acting. She is also a student at the Yoto High School’s Performing Arts Programs and has high proficiency in all three idol essentials -acting, singing, and dancing.
Even the beauty of their school, Ruby Hoshino, adores her and calls her the perfect girl. Frill is a character of little talk; she is calm and is usually watching as the events take place from the side. She is hilarious and has the knack of changing her personality and getting along with anyone.
5Miyako Saito
Miyako Saito was originally depicted as greedy and self-centered in the anime. She wants to get rich and live life luxuriously, even at the cost of another. But when Ai is killed, we see another side of her. She takes care of Ai’s kids and becomes responsible.
After the fall of B-Komachi, Miyako makes a living by focusing on individual artists. Her love for Ruby is evident as she does everything she can to keep her safe and happy. Acting like a true mother to the little Hoshino. Even reviving B-Komachi to help her achieve her dreams.
4Ruby Hoshino
Ruby Hoshino is the daughter of Ai and the reincarnation of Sarina Tendoji. Sarina was the terminally ill patient of Gorou and a die-hard fan of Ai. In her new life, she is given a second opportunity to be what she wants to be: an idol.
She possesses excellent talents for acting and her mother’s good looks. She is kind and composed and can take care of herself. She is the social butterfly everyone wants to be around, having many friends and admirers.
3Aquamarine Hoshino
The reincarnation of Doctor Gorou Amamiya, Aquamarine Hoshina, is deeply scarred and hurt. He loses his lackadaisical carefree personality from his previous life as he has seen himself helpless to care for Ai. The first time, he dies without delivering her children.
The second, he is an infant and sees Ai get murdered without being able to help it. He becomes cold and callous, using lies and manipulation to get closer to the murderer to avenge Ai. Although he doesn’t show it, he also cares for Ruby and the other girls. He also has Hoshino talent and is an excellent actor.
2Kana Arima
Kana Arima was a child prodigy famed for her near-unrivaled talent for acting. But as time passed, she was slowly forgotten and washed out form the industry due to her unbearable arrogance and foul mouth. This led to her having low self-esteem.
After Kana faces these problems she matures and wishes to make a comeback. The story sees her connect with the Hoshinos and join their B-Komachi group as an idol. Her interaction with Ruby and her re-development is a sight to behold. (including her cute tsundere actions)
1Akane Kurokawa
Akane Kurokawa is the top-ranked character in Oshi no Ko. Akane was introduced during the ‘LoveNow’ Reality Dating show arc. She was originally calm and lacked presence, being calm and sort of nerdish. But things soon change as she receives enormous hate and is driven to the extremes of harm.
Aqua Hoshino saves her, and she determines herself to be with him. She is a unique character as she also possesses starry eyes, which are the specialty of the Hoshinos. Akane has a terrifying ability to ‘become’ the character she is playing. She does so and becomes Aqua’s girlfriend, albeit in the dating show.
About Oshi no Ko
Oshi no Ko is a supernatural crime-solving manga series written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump since April 2020 and received an anime adaptation in 2023.
The story follows a doctor, Goro, reincarnated as his favorite idol Ai’s kid. Ai names him Aquamarine and his twin sister, a reincarnation of a patient at the hospital, Ruby. Ai is later killed by a stalker who was also responsible for Goro’s death. As Aquamarine swears revenge on the stalker for his mother’s demise, Ruby follows the same path as her mother to become an idol.
