10. Blue Lock VS. U-20 JAPAN

Isagi

Blue Lock is definitely one of the most popular shounen-sports manga out there. Although the anime hasn’t been up to the mark this time, it is still one of the best anime that’s airing this season.

Blue Lock is an establishment set to cultivate Japan’s best soccer players in order to make them capable of winning at the global level. This is where our main character, Isagi Yoichi, finds himself. Driven by his ego to become the world’s best striker, Isagi must struggle, fight, and evolve to make himself the best at Blue Lock.

This series is a must-watch for any sports fan (or even a non-sports fanatic, for that matter) as it is one of the best anime in the Shonen genre.

9. Ranma 1/2

Ranma 1/2 is a remake of a popular 1989 comedy anime that has made so many people laugh that it would be a shame to let the current generation miss it, hence the remake.

This slapstick anime has quite an interesting setting: A man named Ranma Saotome had his marriage arranged with Akane Tendou. However, Ranma faces a small issue. While he was training in China, he accidentally fell into a hot spring and got cursed. He would turn into a woman if he were splashed with cold water and would conversely turn into a man if he is splashed with hot water!

This is a must-watch for anyone who’s looking for a light-hearted comedy anime.

8. Is It Wrong To Try To Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? V

Danmachi has, like every other year of its release, consistently held onto an approximately similar rating as its previous seasons. The latest season of Danmachi in no way falls short compared to the other anime airing this season, as it found a rank above even Blue Lock!

Any fan of Danmachi should already be watching the sequel as it releases. However, for others who are fans of isekai and fantasy anime, we urge you to watch the previous seasons, as Danmachi is one of the best anime this genre has to offer.

7. Dragon Ball DAIMA

Only a few episodes of Dragon Ball DAIMA have aired so far; however, it has still managed to keep up with fans’ expectations, as the plot is progressing well enough for it to land a rating of 8.03 on MAL.

This new season of Dragon Ball is quite different from the previous ones, as Goku, Vegeta, Bulma, and everyone else seem to have regressed as kids. This is quite the refreshing look for Dragon Ball fans from the initial days as they might find this to be a nostalgic sight. We urge every fan of the Dragon Ball series to watch this anime, as it is the best way to reminisce about the past.

6. Orb: On the Movements of the Earth

Rafal | Source: Twitter (X)

This anime is undeniably quite niche, as it has themes related to history, philosophy, and astronomy. However, that hasn’t stopped it from amassing quite a lot of ratings though, as it reached a whopping 8.22 score on MAL.

One can’t make promises as to whether someone would certainly like this anime or not; however, given its rating and production quality (by MADHOUSE), we believe that it is worth a shot. Here’s a synopsis of the anime:

15th century Poland—a time when heretical ideas led those who possessed such a mindset to be burned at the stake for their beliefs. Rafal, a child prodigy, is expected to major in theology at university, the most important subject at the time. However, one day, he meets a mysterious man and begins researching a potential “truth” amid heretical ideas!

5. Blue Box

Where sports meets romance meets drama is where Blue Box is found. This is one of the slice-of-life anime in the fall 2024 lineup that shows the most promise, with its beautiful animation and artstyle and captivating storyline.

The story follows Taiki Inomata, who loves badminton but has a long way to go before he can reach nationals. He falls in love with an upperclassman, Chinatsu, on seeing her practicing her heart out on the girls’ basketball team. A convenient turn of events brought Chinatsu into Taiki’s life. Now, he’s working on bettering himself to be a man who’s worthy of being beside her while one-sidedly crushing on her.

4. Natsume’s Book of Friends Season 7

Natsume’s Book of Friends is an anime about a boy named Natsume who can see and fight Yokai(which are basically ghosts). One day, he stumbles upon his grandmother’s notebook to see the names of all the Yokai she had defeated and realizes that the notebook gave him control over them.

The story follows Natsume and Madara, a powerful cat spirit he accidentally freed. According to a mutual agreement, Madara now serves as his protector, and the story progresses as Natsume helps build relationships with people and yokai alike.

This anime, too, is quite niche. We strongly recommend fans who love the slice-of-life genre to watch this anime after catching up to the seventh season of course.

3. Dandadan

Anyone who’s at least a little caught up on anime news would know that Dandadan is the most trending anime at this point. While the manga was moderately popular, the release of the anime has changed fans’ views on the series entirely.

The story is about a high school girl, Momo, who saves a boy, Ken(Okarun), from being bullied. They quickly hit it off and become friends. However, Ken is interested in aliens but doesn’t believe in ghosts, and Mono believes the opposite.

When they both individually tried to prove the other wrong, to their surprise, they both were exposed to extremely inexplicable paranormal events and also mysteriously awakened powers that helped them overcome these dangers.

2. Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- Season 3

This is one of the best anime that the isekai genre has to offer, and the story follows Natsuki Subaru, a 17-year-old boy who got isekai’d. In the new world, he faces all sorts of disasters, but he also finds the girl he loves: a half-elf, Emilia. Subaru now has the ability to turn time back when he dies. What would be the best way to use this ability? To save Emilia, of course.

The latest season of Re ZERO will take place a year after Subaru’s victory at the sanctuary. At this point, Emilia’s royal selection is still going on. However, does Subaru’s fate still contain despair?

This series is a must-watch for any anime fan in general, and it’s worth all the investment of time needed to catch up to the third season of the anime. We urge every reader who hasn’t watched this anime yet to give it a go.

1. BLEACH: Thousand Year Blood War Part 3

bleach
Bleach | Source: IMDb

With a whopping MAL score of 9.02, Bleach TYBW part 3 has risen up in the ranks, keeping fans’ hopes up and high as usual. The anime has covered four episodes so far, all of which have received great response from fans.

Bleach follows a boy named Ichigo Kurosaki, a shinigami (grim reaper). With the story in its final arc, we see a risk of the boundary between the human and soul realms depleting due to the hollows crossing over to the human realm. Ichigo and his friends must try their best to put a stop to this in order to maintain order in their world.

This anime is quite legendary in the anime community, as most people would know. Since catching up to the whole series is quite a big investment of time, we do urge anyone looking for a long anime series to definitely catch up to the Bleach TYBW arc, in order to enjoy this masterpiece that Fall 2024 has granted us.
