10 Moyashimon
Tadaysau Sawaki can see microbes of all kinds, from the ones in yeast or fermented food to the ones that cause athlete’s foot. Sawaki enrolls in an agricultural university where his grandfather asks him to meet Professor Itsuki.
Professor Itsuki specializes in fermentation; with him and other students in the university, Sawaki’s perspective on his ability changes. You always see how to cook food, so why not see something that helps create foods such as cheese, alcohol, to stinky fermented food?
9 Kakuriyo: Bed and Breakfast for Spirits
Aoi Tsubaki can see spirits, just like her grandfather. She learns to live in peace with the ayakashi from her grandfather. But after his passing, Aoi has only her cooking skills to protect herself from human-eating spirits.
After feeding one such ayakashi, Aoi is transported to a mysterious realm. There, she finds out that her grandfather was indebted to this ayakashi known as Oodanna, and to pay off her debt, she has to marry him. Aoi declines it and decides to pay off the debt by working at Oodanna’s Inn.
8 True Cooking Master Boy
After becoming the youngest Super Chef in history, Liu Mao Xing embarks on an adventure to learn more about cooking across China with his two friends. Mao’s mother fought against the Underground Cooking Society, and so will Mao to protect the Legendary Cooking Utensils. Mao faces chefs from the mysterious society in cooking battles, and the stakes are high. This anime is a rarity because it showcases Chinese cuisine; believe me, it’s mouth-watering.
7 Sweetness & Lightning
After the passing of his wife, Kouhei Inuzuka is taking care of his daughter, Tsumugi, but as a full-time teacher, he couldn’t provide her with home-cooked meals. When one of his students, Kotori, invites him and Tsumugi to her family restaurant, Kouhei accepts the offer.
Later, he discovers that Kotori’s family restaurant is often closed, and she eats alone because of her mother’s work. Soon, the three would gather in the family restaurant to enjoy warm home-cooked meals.
6 Silver Spoon
To escape from his parents’ unrealistic expectations, Yuugo Hachiken enrolls in Ooezo Agricultural High School in the countryside to escape the neverending stress.
In this school, Yuugo becomes the amateur among classmates who have lived their whole lives on the farms, caring for livestock, growing fruits and vegetables, and doing every other agricultural work, unlike Yuugo, a complete novice in this field. Ichigo Amano is clueless about her extraordinary tasting ability. Upon witnessing it, a famous pâtissier named Henri Lucas offers her a chance to enroll in St. Marie Academy, a prestigious culinary school known for sweets.

With his ability, ‘Online Supermarket’ Mukouda buys products from Japan and sells them here with remarkable profits, making him a renowned merchant.
Besides that, he’s an adventurer who cooks delicious meals along the way to feed himself and his familiar, a mythical wolf named Fel. For this one, I would ask you not to judge it by the cover and give it a try.
3 Yakitate!! Japan
Kazuma Azuma’s dream is to create a bread unique to Japan. After discovering his love for breadmaking, Azuma is gifted with ‘Solar Hands’; he has unusually warm hands which help quicken the fermenting process.
Soon, he aims to get a spot in Pantasia, the most renowned bakery in Japan, to create the bread he has always dreamed of. This anime is a must-watch for the bread enthusiasts out there.
2 Delicious in Dungeon
After a dungeon dive, Laios and his party encounter the red dragon. Despite losing his sister Falin to the red dragon and send back outside, Laois is dead set on going into the dungeon, but every other member except Chilchuck and Marcille leaves.
With no funds to buy enough food, the trio meets a dwarf named Senshi, who lends his cooking skills by joining their party. Senshi’s specialty is cooking mouth-watering food out of dungeon monsters, yum-yum.
1 Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma
Since childhood, Souma has honed his cooking skills to surpass his father and take over their family restaurant. But one day when his father decides to close the shop for a job in New York, Souma is surprised.
He’s more surprised when his father sends him to Tootsuki Culinary Academy, a prestigious school for aspiring chefs, where only 10% can graduate. The academy is famous for its Shokugeki or Food Wars, high-stake cooking battles. It’ll only take you one episode to understand the genius of Food Wars.
Final Thoughts
