Netflix has seen the highest subscriber decline this year. But interestingly, it has also brought us some of the most popular shows on the internet. So, in this list, I’ll be taking you through the top 10 binge-worthy shows of 2022. Let’s jump in.
Here are the top 10 binge-worthy Netflix shows of 2022:
- Stranger Things
- The Umbrella Academy
- Peaky Blinders
- Better Call Saul
- Ozark
- Vikings: Valhalla
- Twenty-Five Twenty-One
- Business Proposal
- Heartstopper
- Love Death+Robots
1 Stranger Things
Season 4 of Stranger Things was recently released, and it is being hailed as the best season of the show. If you haven’t started it yet, watch it now! It blends the sci-fi and horror genres and gives us something entirely out of the box.
The show is set in the ’80s in a small town called Hawkins. When a kid disappears, his friends embark on an adventure and soon unravel some dark secrets of the town. What happens next is the entire story.
Season 5 will be the last one of the show. The creators plan to develop spinoffs after this, but we still don’t know what they will be about.
2 The Umbrella Academy
The Umbrella Academy is another show that everyone was keenly waiting for. Season 3 came out recently and flipped the complete story on its head.
The show depicts a bunch of enhanced humans who are estranged siblings. When they gather after many years, a series of events lead to them trying to save the world.
After Doctor Strange 2 and Thor: Love and Thunder, people have started to feel superhero fatigue. They are tired of seeing the same kind of stories packaged differently. The Umbrella Academy rises above the formulaic depiction of heroes and can be considered a cynic’s version of the superhero genre.

3 Peaky Blinders
Season 6 of Peaky Blinders was one of the most awaited installments of the show. After all, it was going to be the last one, and with the untimely demise of Helen McRory, everyone wondered how the story would conclude.
While the show is a masterpiece when it comes to stylish cinematography and world-building, the final season failed to impress us. McRory’s character was pretty crucial for the show’s story. She passed during the filming of Season 6, and perhaps that’s why the writers found it difficult to rearrange the pieces and tell a coherent tale in the show’s finale.
Season 6 is still worth a watch, and needless to say, you must watch all the previous ones if you haven’t. The show ends on a cliffhanger. A Peaky Blinders movie is being made, and the story will most likely conclude with it.

4 Better Call Saul
Most people remember Better Call Saul as a Breaking Bad spinoff. However, the show in itself is a work of art. The characters, performances, and screenplay are nothing short of absolute brilliance.
Like Peaky Blinders, even Better Call Saul is close to its ending. Season 6 Part 2 will be the last in this incredible saga. Start now, and you can catch up with the finale in time.

5 Ozark
Ozark is a lot like Breaking Bad in terms of the basic premise. If you’ve just watched Breaking Bad or Narcos and can’t get enough of the genre, this is your go-to show. In 2022, even this series ended in the most epic ways possible, and you shouldn’t miss it.

6 Vikings: Valhalla
Sequel to the popular show Vikings; this one is set 100 years after the events of the original series. You can watch the show without watching the original since the storyline is fresh and the vibe is different.
If you have watched Vikings, it might take an episode or two to get used to this one. This is primarily because the creators are trying to deliver something different, not just in terms of story but also in tonality. So hang in there, and you’ll find Vikings: Valhalla equally enjoyable.
7 Twenty-Five Twenty-One
I know the list has been quite intense so far, so here are a few shows that would make up for a lighter watch. Twenty-Five Twenty-One is a romantic K-drama that follows the story of a man who wants to rebuild his life.
While the tale might seem simplistic, you’ll find some excellent character work and performances here. It is genuinely heartwarming and hits you right in the feels. Watch it if you’re in the mood for something feel-good and emotional.
8 Business Proposal
Business Proposal is much more light-hearted, and the emotions aren’t as profound as in Twenty-Five Twenty-One. The creators portray the events as a slice-of-life tale. The tonality makes the show binge-worthy, and you can watch all the episodes in one go over a weekend.
9 Heartstopper
Heartstopper is a coming-of-age queer love story based on the comics of the same name. After its release, it garnered a lot of attention and appreciation from audiences and critics alike.
The show traverses through a range of emotions, and the switch from one to another is almost seamless. The color palette and setting are similar to Sex Education; if you’ve enjoyed that, you’d surely enjoy this one.

10 Love Death +Robots
Love Death +Robots is the perfect title to end this list with. It’s one of those TV shows that feel absolutely new and innovative. The format is similar to Black Mirror, but that’s the only common aspect between the two shows.
Every episode tells a different story; collectively, the show covers genres such as horror, comedy, sci-fi, and fantasy. The one connecting thread between all these is that the series imagines a life beyond humans.
With this, we end our list of best shows to watch on Netflix in 2022. There are some honorary mentions, but the titles are not from 2022. You can check out Sex Education, Dark, and Borgen on the streaming service. Each one is pretty different from the other and makes up for a great watch.
