Fly Me to the Moon is one of the cutest anime out there, and the manga is going on a hiatus for four weeks. While we expect reasons like health to cause the break, Kenjiro’s reason is unanticipated but not unreasonable.
The 46th issue of Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine revealed that Kenjirō Hata’s “Fly Me to the Moon” manga is going on hiatus until the 50th issue. The magazine claimed the manga artist was recovering from the “shocking” chapter 236 of Jujutsu Kaisen.
And honestly, can you even blame him? Jujutsu Kaisen took a turn for the worse when Gege Akutami decided to kill off Gojo Satoru. While Itadori is supposed to be the main character of this series, it was inevitably Gojo who stole our hearts.
Chapter 235 declares Gojo to be the strongest after he effortlessly overpowers Sukuna. However, the subsequent chapter shows Gojo meeting Nanami and Geto in what seems like a netherworld.
This felt incomplete, as if a chapter or so went missing in between. This was the worst “plot twist” we witnessed in recent times. While some fans responded with memes and shrines, others went berserk and started targeting the author. You must remember the viral ‘Gege when I catch you Gege’ trend.
Understandably, Kenjiro is not able to process the death of Gojo like the rest of us. Let’s give this poor mangaka a little time to reset while the rest of us mourn the end of the most suave and epic character in the anime world.
