‘Tomo-chan is a Girl!’ is a series that every tomboyish girl on Earth will relate to. The protagonist, Tomo, has grown up acting like a boy, to the point that sometimes even her closest friends don’t treat her like a girl.
This was all fine, until puberty hit Tomo and she realized that she has feelings for her best friend, Junichiro. Now the only problem is that Jun never sees her as a girl. You would do the same if you grew up getting judo thrown everyday by her.
‘Tomo-chan is a Girl,’ the textbook manga for all comedy lovers will recieve an anime adaptation in January 2023. Crunchyroll has confirmed that it will stream the anime once it airs.
You won’t find a single normal character in the entire series and that is its charm. To prove my point, I present to you the latest trailer of the anime:
Tomo and Jun are perfect for each other due to their obliviousness to their surroundings. Misuzu, Tomo’s classmate, is one of those people who can make you go into existential crisis with her words.
Carol Olston is a transfer student who looks like the dumb blonde but has more perspective than others. These four consist of the main characters, so I guess you already know that Tomo and Jun are just lambs who will be slaughtered by their friends.
Other than these four, two other characters have also been revealed along with their cast members:
Character | Cast | Other Works |
Kosuke Misaki | Kouhei Amasaki | Monoma (My Hero Academia) |
Tatsumi Tanabe | Yoshitsugu Matsuoka | Souma Yukihira (Food Wars!) |
Jun and Tomo will slowly become aware of their feelings towards each other but not before countless hilarious scenes. So get ready for a comedy anime filled with dumb teenagers, sassy remarks and a protagonist who struggles to be perceived as a girl.
