The first half of the fifth episode of Tomo-chan is a Girl! featured Tomo and Misuzu visiting Carol at her mansion, where we are also introduced to Carol’s mother. Carol invites Tomo and Misuzu to hang together on their coming day off. Carol’s mother invites them inside when they arrive at her huge mansion. When Carol’s mother sees Misuzu leaving to use the restroom, she expresses her displeasure with the way Carol had been treated before.
She questions whether Misuzu is a bad girl, but she quickly starts laughing when Misuzu tries to claim that Carol is just her friend because of the money. When Tomo finds she has forgotten her midterms, she panics. Although Jun agrees to tutor Tomo, Misuzu says she will take over instead.
They meet Misuzu’s mother, who resembles her daughter a lot and then proceed to Misuzu’s room to study. Jun informed Tomo that he purchased a game he believed she might enjoy. She accepts his invitation to stay the night. When Tomo arrives at Jun’s home, he informs her that they will spend the night alone. When she gets in the shower, he becomes agitated.
When Jun discovers himself above Tomo in an inappropriate setting, they playfully taunt one another. They both become agitated and return to games before noticing it is late. They try to remain awake later but eventually give up due to fatigue and decide to go to bed. Jun asks Tomo if they will always stay this way but dozes off before Tomo can respond.
Tomo starts to pinch his nose, but Jun reaches out and holds her tightly. They end up spending the entire night cuddling. When Jun wakes up and Tomo remembers what occurred, they both feel flustered. The episode concludes with Tomo admitting that things between them were strange and stayed that way for nearly a week.

Tomo-chan Is a Girl! is a four-panel manga by Fumita Yanagida. It was published from April 2015 to July 2019. The manga will also receive an anime adaptation in 2023.
The plot revolves around a tomboy girl, Tomo Aizawa. She has a crush on her childhood friend, Jun, but he only ever thinks of her as a guy. She tries to show her love but it ends up in Jun completely misinterpreting her hints.
