Tom Hanks is all set to reunite with his Forrest Gump director Robert Zemeckis in his next film. The film is an adaptation of the 2014 graphic novel, ‘Here’, written and illustrated by Richard McGuire.
Deadline reported that while the adaptation will be directed by Zemeckis himself, the script will be handled by Eric Roth and Zemeckis.
This will be Hanks’ first collaboration with director Robert Zemeckis and writer Eric Roth, as a trio, since the Oscar-winning Forrest Gump in 1994. However, it will be Hanks’ fifth collaboration with Zemeckis alone.
Earlier, the duo have worked together in Forrest Gump (1994), Cast Away (2000), Polar Express (2004) and the upcoming live-action feature film adaptation of Pinocchio which is expected to release on Disney+ later this year.
McGuire’s graphic novel, ‘Here’ is set in one room and focuses on many people who have inhabited the room over the years, in the past as well as distant future. It promises to be a big-screen, feel good and heartwarming tale that Hollywood desperately needs at this point.
The film will be produced by Playtone and ImageMovers and deals have been arranged by agencies CAA and WME.
Meanwhile, you can watch the Oscar-winning Hanks-Zemeckis-Roth collaboration, Forrest Gump on Amazon Prime Video.
