Mikey and Draken sweep up the rest of Black Dragon in episode 9 of Tokyo Revengers: Christmas Showdown, titled “Dawning of a New Era.”

As Mikey walks in calmly through the church doors, no one has much hope of him defeating Taiju, especially after all the emotional trauma he went through recently. However, the captain of Toman proves himself with one swift kick.

An enraged Taiju declares war as he tries to gather the 100 soldiers and destroy Toman right then and there, but finds Draken sitting upon the entirety of his gang defeated; there is no recovery from this defeat now.

At the end of this mission, we can finally see Takemichi moving on to his next goal since he managed to save both Taiju’s life and Hakkai from taking over Black Dragon and becoming evil for the sake of saving Yuzuha.

We will likely see Taiju’s reform and change after he gets a taste of his first loss and Hakkai’s return to Toman as a division leader. Draken and Mikey may also have some things to say to Takemichi since he proved his worth before they arrived at the church.

Mikey walks in through the church doors with a calm “Merry Christmas” and asks them what they’re up to tonight, immediately prompting Mitsuya to apologize for breaking the truce with Black Dragon.

Taiju immediately begins taunting Mikey, who returns with an incredibly fierce stare that scares Takemichi making him remember everything they said about Mikey, but is interrupted when Taiju knocks him out with a single punch.

Mitsuya runs at him enraged but is stopped with a glance, and Mikey gets back up behind him. We also see the revival of Black Dragon and how Taiju was recruited to the team because he was the strongest person there.

Takemichi has little hope for Mikey to win, but the next second has Taiju on the floor getting hit by a swift kick barely visible to the human eye. Everyone there regains their respect for Mikey as he talks about Baji and all his friends being the reason for his strength.

Taiju gets back up, more furious than ever, as he tells them to gather the entirety of Black Dragon and challenges them to a fight. Mikey says he has nothing but strength and no heart, telling him to watch him start a new age.

He runs out to gather the 100 soldiers but finds Draken sitting atop the entirety of them, defeated and lying on the ground, signaling Toman’s win. Takemichi rejoices that they made it through Christmas night without a single death and a changed future.

Hakkai asks Taiju how his first loss feels and tells him that Yuzuha will never get abused by him again. Yuzuha has a different approach and understands the root of all his hatred, primarily directed at himself.

Tokyo Revengers is a manga written and illustrated by Ken Wakui. It began serialization in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine on March 1, 2017, and ended its run in November 2022. It is compiled into 31 tankobon volumes.

The story revolves around Takemichi Hanagaki, who learned that Tokyo Manji Gang had killed his only ex-girlfriend from back in middle school. After learning about the incident, Takemichi was pushed from the railway platform.
