Takemichi tries desperately to change the future in episode 3 of Tokyo Revengers: Christmas Showdown, titled “Stand Alone.”

Hakkai tries to do everything in his power to save Takemichi’s life from the wrath of his older brother and eventually has to come to the problematic result of him leaving Toman to serve the Black Dragon.

Takemichi teams up with Chifuyu to save this disastrous timeline and prevent the future they see; however, his plans could be better in the business to overturn the situation.

Episode 4 Speculation

The next episode will likely have Hakkai in a powerful dilemma since he already promised his brother that he would quit Toman and join the Black Dragon, but now he isn’t allowed to by Mitsuya and Mikey.

This may enrage Black Dragon and eventually escalate the conflict into a turf war, where Toman has no chance, considering the vast difference in workforce and experience in fighting.

Recap of Episode 3

Taiju orders Hakkai to beat Takemichi to death, and he reminds him of the hierarchy. His older sister tries to come in and defend him, but Taiju beats her out of the way. As Taiju continues to clobber Takemichi, even Hina tries to stop him.

Hakkai offers to quit Toman and join the Black Dragon in exchange for Taiju sparing Takemichi’s life. He recalls what Kazutora told him and deduces that Hakkai may be plotting to kill his brother.

In this timeline, he finds that all his friends are also a part of Toman since he just let them in as one of the captains. Chifuyu tells them of the history of Toman, whose creation directly results from the Black Dragon’s influence on the Kanto region.

Takemichi pledges to deal with it on his own, and not get Toman involved. Chifuyu tells him that he should enjoy the whole thing instead of stressing out so much, and in an outburst of emotions, he tells Chifuyu everything about the future.

In a turn of events, Chifuyu believes him and even says he figured. They both discuss the possibilities and what they should do about Kisaki, and he pledges his support to Takemichi to take this future together.

The other Toman leaders are discussing, and it suddenly turns with suspicion toward Hakkai. Takemichi’s job is to prevent Hakkai from quitting Toman now to avoid this future.

As he tries to leave, Takemichi gives Mikey dorayaki to bribe him into not letting Hakkai go, but it doesn’t work out. They move on to Plan B. He pulls out his notes, and gumption is the first step.

Eventually, Mikey decides to let Mitsuya decide instead, and he won’t allow him to leave.

Tokyo Revengers is a manga written and illustrated by Ken Wakui. It began serialization in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine on March 1, 2017, and ended its run in November 2022. It is compiled into 31 tankobon volumes.

The story revolves around Takemichi Hanagaki, who learned that Tokyo Manji Gang had killed his only ex-girlfriend from back in middle school. After learning about the incident, Takemichi was pushed from the railway platform.
