Recap of chapter 275
Mikey finally gives in to his dark impulses. Mikey takes Haruchiyo’s katana and marches toward Takemichi. One of their teammate’s questions as to what is the point of their fight, as it’s a curse, and no one knows how to beat the curse.
As Takemichi tries to punch Mikey, he dodges easily and makes an extended cut in Takemichi’s arm with the katana. Everyone is shocked to witness that. We all know how strong Mikey is, and he is not holding back against Takemichi. In that context, Takemichi cannot hold up against Mikey for long.
Haruchiyo says they cannot erase the curse as Mikey and his dark impulses are one. He calls himself stupid to follow Mikey because this curse killed Shinichiro, Baji, Emma, and Draken. Whoever tries to save Mikey from his dark impulses will end up dead. Haruchiyo warns Takemichi that he will die if he tries to save Mikey. Takemichi tells him to shut up.
We all know that as long as Takemichi breathes, he will keep trying to save Mikey. His determination and consistency are something to be amazed of.
Just then, Mikey stabs Takemichi with the katana. Takemichi brings himself to embrace Mikey, much to Mikey’s surprise. Takemichi claims Mikey to be his friend for life, and he will carry his dark impulses on his back.
Hearing this, Mikey returns from his trance of dark impulses because of Takemichi’s warm embrace. Mikey realizes what he has done. He stabbed his friend, who would have done anything for him. Mikey’s dark impulses are not something to be underestimated. It made him fight against his close people going as far as to stab them.
Takemichi confesses that since Mikey is the trigger, Takemichi will go back to the past over and over again so that he can save Mikey and bring everyone’s smile back. He then stops talking.
Chifuyu is devastated to see someone close to him again on the verge of death. Mikey screams, not able to process Takemichi’s condition.
