Episode 6 Recap
This episode starts with Kouki and the SARG members trying to apprehend Ran. Luckily DoRed’s members show up and rescue their leader. The following day, SARG investigates on DoRed with the connection to Kunai.
Ran and his friends realize the SARG are after them due to their violation of the Anti-Nuisance Ordinance. Ran explains how Kunai was used in the plot of redeveloping Shantytown into a casino.
Kunai was backed into a corner and didn’t want to involve the team to get them in trouble. Considering the facts, Kunai chose to take the matter into his own hands. Later, while Shuta tries to contact Ran and Kouki, Kunai’s message before he died is broadcasted.
Kunai explains the whole situation about Shantytown and how his act wasn’t wrong. He further says to support DoRed with the situation becoming dire in the ward. With that, Ran decides to wage war against the twenty-fourth ward officials.
Shuta then visits Ran and states RGB needs to be together for the better. He also says that Carneades might be on to them, but Ran isn’t bothered by such concerns. Ran tells him to leave since SARG is after them, and Kouki will sell him out on DoRed.
Shuta, considering the situation, feels he can talk and make Kouki rethink his decision. Sadly, Kouki is caught up in his own ideals when Shuta tries to speak to him. Gori, after the broadcast, takes Kouki to a secret facility.
Visiting the radio tower, Gori leads Kouki into the framework of the Hazard Cast. There Sakiko explains the details of the system and reveals a new one – Kanae System. Kouki’s mother developed the system, so it was named after her.
With everything explained, Gori shows Kouki the brain of the system. Kouki is astonished that the system is connected to Asumi’s body. Given the Kanae System is an extraordinary tech, Gori had to make things work to prevent tragedies like Kanae and Asumi.
Afterward, Ran and his friends get ambushed by the SARG team. Ran knew Kouki would sell him out and tries to flee. In the end, Sakiko grieves over the action taken with the Kanae System. A familiar figure paints the Carneades symbol over DoRed’s graffiti.
About Tokyo 24-ku
Tokyo 24-ku is an upcoming original anime by CloverWorks which is scheduled to air in January 2022.
The anime takes place on an artificial island floating in Tokyo Bay, named “Kyokutō Hōreigai Tokubetsu Chiku” (Far East Special District Outside of the Law), nicknamed “24th Ward.” The manga centers on three childhood friends born and raised on the island: Ran, Koki, and Shuta.. But their relationships will change dramatically after a certain incident.
At a memorial ceremony one year after the incident, the three happen to meet again. They receive a phone call from a dead friend urging them to choose their futures.
