The latest chapter of Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun was chapter 84, titled “To The Far Shore.”
Hanako finally makes a return, and we see him share a sensitive moment with Aoi. He tells her how the train was heading towards the Far Shore and how she’ll soon become a supernatural. Aoi is quite sad but tries to compose herself.
The duo chats about their crushes, and Aoi tells Hanako that she loves Akane. She also asks him about his feelings for Nene.
He doesn’t deny them, and they continue talking. Soon, the train suddenly comes to a halt, and we see that Nene and the group have arrived to save Aoi.
Will Aoi be able to return to her world? We’ll find out in the next chapter.
1. Chapter 85 Discussions and Predictions
In the last chapter, we saw Nene, Teru, Akane, and Kou jumping into the well near the Red House to cross the boundary. They successfully make it to the supernatural world and manage to stop the train to the Far Shore.
Onboard the train is Hanako and Aoi, who planned to travel to the last station. Aoi would have turned into a supernatural if they had reached their destination, but her friends were able to stop the train just in time.
In the next chapter, we’ll see if the team can rescue Aoi. Also, we know that Teru plans to kill Hanako, so we will see his real plan put into action. Nene will try her best to save Hanako. It’s going to be an exciting new chapter.

5. Chapter 84 Recap
Chapter 84 resumes with the group gathering at the ruins at ten in the morning. They are heading towards the boundary. They return to the well that Nene and Kou found after the red house burned down.
They inspect the well and discover that the well is as old as the house. The Red House is built directly above the well, which wasn’t adequately filled. Teru’s anti-spirit amulet starts ringing, implying that there are supernaturals nearby, indicating that the well is probably a bridge that connects the two worlds.
They decide to jump in the well in alphabetical order, starting from Akane. Akane is a little freaked out by this and asks Teru about the box he mentioned before. Teru says that he did bring the box and opens it to reveal its contents.
The sight is unpleasant, to say the least. Everyone becomes very uncomfortable as a severed hand covered in withered cloth meets their eyes.
Teru tells them how the hand was once used in a village. It belonged to an Oni who ate supernaturals and turned into them. He explains how by eating a little bit of a supernatural, they can temporarily erase their existence from their world and then cross the boundary.
Disgusted, Akane questions him whether they will have to eat the hand, to which Teru replies that there is no need since they have already eaten some. He tells them that he had finely chopped a bit of the hand and sprinkled it on the pizza they had yesterday.
Before the others could protest, Teru pushes Akane into the well and asks Kou and Nene to jump in as well.
We then cut to the world of the supernaturals. This world looks quite strange as a giant hole widens in the sky. Aoi finds herself in a traditional kimono, as fragments from her original world disintegrate and get sucked in by the hole.
As she watches in awe, she notices how everyone else is running away from something. She then looks down at herself and sees that she, too, was withering away.
Just then, Hanako appears from within the crowd and tells Aoi that the boundary was trying to close itself, swallowing everything in its vicinity. He asks her to board a train that leads to the next world, the Far Shore.
Having no other choice, she goes with Hanako. The two sit together, and Hanako tries to make her feel a little comfortable by offering to buy her a bento. She asks about the train instead.
Hanako tells her that the train will take him to the last station, the Far Shore, and then she’ll become a supernatural just like everyone else on the train.
Saddened by this revelation, Aoi finds it hard to accept that she can no longer go back to her world. Hanako asks her about her previous life.
She tells him about the boy she liked and tries to plaster a smile. She then confronts him about his feelings for Nene, and Hanako doesn’t deny that he likes her.
Their conversation is cut short when the train suddenly comes to a halt. We then see that it’s Nene who has pulled the lever to stop the train. Finally, Akane and Teru are ready to rescue Aoi.

Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun is a Japanese manga series by Iro Aida. It has been serialized in Square Enix’s shōnen manga magazine Monthly G Fantasy since 2014 and has been collected in twelve tankōbon volumes. The manga is licensed in North America by Yen Press.
One of the most well-known Japanese tales is that of Hanako-san: the ghost of a young girl who haunts the school’s bathrooms.
Kamome Academy has its own version of Hanako-san’s legend. Rumors are that if one successfully manages to summon Hanako-san, she will grant her summoner any wish. Lured by the gossip, many people have tried to call upon her, yet every attempt has failed.
