The popular donghua To Be Hero X is back with a really dramatic second episode, and fans were excited to see the new developments between Moon and Nice. We also got to see Moon get liberated from all her current headaches, and the episode ended with Nice seeing her off as she claimed her freedom. Meanwhile, danger lurks in the corner as Nice may be getting a new enemy.

2. To Be Hero X Episode 2 Recap
The second episode of To Be Hero X started with Lin Ling waking up to see Moon exercising. While it was initially a little awkward for him to interact with her, things got easier after their company’s intervention. They both were reminded that since they had signed contracts, they would have to play their respective roles to satisfy the public.
Nice and Moon are contractually obliged to act as lovers, and since the public requires them to get married, they will have to follow through. Moon expressed how she wanted to terminate the contract, as she didn’t want to be forced into a fake marriage. She was a travel blogger, and she wanted to continue journeying to different parts of the world. Once Miss J realised that Moon wouldn’t listen to her, she decided to lock them in the floor with no facilities like WiFi or entertainment.
She believed that if a man and woman were locked together in a room, they’d have to develop some positive feelings for each other. This theory may not have been wrong, as getting trapped together in the same place did help the two learn more about each other. Moon realised that Lin Ling wasn’t actually Nice, and Lin Ling learnt more about Moon’s hobbies and wishes. Moon also revealed why she couldn’t use her wormhole to teleport. Apparently, her wormhole was meant to always get her closer to Nice, so if Nice was trapped along with her, then she wouldn’t be able to escape.
After about a month of living together, Lin Ling realised that there might be a way for Moon to have her way. He suggested to Miss J that they have Nice’s nemesis, Wreck, intrude on their wedding and have him accidentally kill Moon so they could have a sob story, after which Moon could be freed from the public glare. They set this plan in action, but Wreck seemed completely fixated on Nice and didn’t even seem interested in playing his role.
He demanded to know why Nice didn’t respond to any of his messages, and after a bit of sparring, he realised that Lin Ling wasn’t Nice, and then demanded to know where Nice was. Lin Ling revealed to him that Nice had taken his own life. Wreck became an emotional wreck after hearing this, and rampaged around the place on hearing this. Moon seized this opportunity to pop the blood bag on her, pretend like she got shot by him, and then played a very melodramatic death scene which moved all viewers.
Everyone was very satisfied with this ending, including Moon, who was finally happy as she got free. When Nice appealed to the public to pray for Moon to be free, she became able to use her wormhole to teleport freely to, and it stopped being a means to teleport only to Nice. The episode ended with Moon having her last interaction with Nice, when she mentioned that although she never wanted to marry him, she would still miss his company.
3. What To Expect In Episode 3 To Be Hero X?
The last scene of To Be Hero X featured Enlighter scrutinising an interview with Nice, and on close inspection, he realised that Nice was actually Lin Ling. After this, he was visited by the Spotlight Organisation, which offered him a gadget that would grant him unknown powers. This indicates how Lin Ling may have a new headache to deal with.
The last scene of the anime also revealed that Lin Ling’s next goal was to overcome to top 10 hero, Bu Dao, so we may get to see him take his first steps to make this happen. Nice will likely meet Bu Dao’s enemy, Gu Lang, and also establish the relationship between the two.

To Be Hero is a Chinese-Japanese donghua experimental anthology action comedy media franchise. The first season of the show was produced by Emon and animated by Studio LAN, and supervised by Shinichi Watanabe. It premiered in October 2016 on Tokyo MX in Japan and on vthe ideo sharing website Bilibili in China.
The story takes place in a world where heroes are created by people’s trust, and the hero who gains the most trust is known as X. In this world, people’s trust can be quantified through data, and these values are reflected on everyone’s wrist. As long as one gains enough trust points, an ordinary person can possess superpowers and become a superhero who can save the world.
