Ever since its release late last year, Ubisoft has kept a steady stream of updates coming for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. While some of them have brought game-breaking bugs (and led Ubisoft to promise that they will spend more time on the updates before release), the updates have brought a fair share of improvements and new features to the game.
The game’s latest patch – Title Update 1.2.1 – is no different. The patch brings a whole set of new additions to the game with the highlight being three new skills. Here’s what they are:
- Cold Rage – Ignore hit interruptions while performing successive regular melee attacks. This effect recharges after a few seconds.
- Eye of the North – Prevents flinching from hits while aiming with your bow. This effect recharges after a few seconds.
- Intense Rage – Ignore hit interruptions while performing your next off-hand parry or special attack. This effect recharges after a few seconds.
The update also brings added support for the upcoming Wrath of the Druids expansion. However, players will have to download a separate update on the day of release i.e. , May 17.
As for gameplay enhancements, there’s plenty to look forward to. One of the more notable features to be added is the ability to toggle the cinematic camera on/off during finisher moves; a great bet for anyone who’s looking to bring a little Mortal Kombat-esque exhibition of gore to a Viking setting. You’ll also find plenty of new fish populating – halibut small, sturgeon small, flat fish big, and mackerel big – populating the game’s Nordic water bodies.
There are also many, many fixes coming via 1.2.1 including those for River Raids, graphics and animation, quests, environments and more.
While updates continue to arrive for AC Valhalla, all eyes are on Wrath of the Druids which will be the first major content drop of the game. While the Ostara Festival made for a buggy but pleasant outing set in Nordic lands, Wrath of the Druids will take players away from Norway to Ireland to take on the devilish members of the Druidic cult.
Title Update 1.2.1 will be deployed on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One consoles, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Ubisoft Connect, Epic Games Store, Stadia, and Amazon Luna today April 27. If you want a closer look at the update, head to Ubisoft’s blog here.
