Slitterhead’s complex, non-linear narrative can be perplexing until the final moments. The story unfolds over three days, with players revisiting important events to alter the course of tragedy or recruit new allies. Below, we’ll break down the game’s Main Ending and True Ending.

i. Slitterhead Main Ending

Julee attempts to reason with Alex/Leopard Head on a rooftop, explaining that the Slitterhead threat is eliminated.

However, Alex refuses to cooperate, fueled by resentment towards Julee and Night Owl for showing empathy towards certain Slitterheads.

Alex attacks Julee, using his newfound ability to possess civilians, but Julee ultimately gains the upper hand. As Alex lies defeated, the blue light fades from his eyes while he laughs his final laugh.

The scene then shifts to Julee, who watches in horror as a plane hurtles towards her, implying that Leopard Head has taken control of the pilot.

This ending leads to a post-credits scene where Night Owl reflects on eternity, hinting that the time loop will restart if Julee dies.

ii. Slitterhead True Ending

To unlock the true ending, players must first achieve the normal ending and then reduce the casualty counter to 66 or fewer by replaying previous missions.

This unlocks the “Last Duel RE (2nd Loop)” mission, which offers a fresh perspective on the final confrontation between Julee and Alex. The mission reveals that Night Owl and Leopard Head are two sides of the same being.

Julee and Alex engage in battle once again, with the outcome being same as Alex lies bleeding on the rooftop. However, here’s a surprising twist. With time slowing down, players get the chance to save Julee’s life by possessing a passenger within eight seconds as the airplane flies overhead.

If players succeed, Night Owl springs into action, fighting his way up to the cockpit. Leopard Head attempts to stop him by possessing the pilot and a flight attendant. The mid-credits sequence shows the plane narrowly avoiding the building where Julee stands.

Relieved, Julee notices Alex’s disappearance and the post-credits scene reveals Alex riding off into the night, his eyes still glowing blue. The screen displays a message about the ongoing struggle between Julee, Alex, and the Slitterheads.

iii. So, What is the Conclusion?

The game’s final moments leave players with more questions than answers. Julee, Alex, and the Hyokis will continue their battles while the Slitterhead threat persists.

The ending’s ambiguity leaves plenty of room for speculation and can be interpreted as a setup for a potential sequel or a final statement on the time loop’s perpetual nature.
