Taika Waititi is working on the fourth installation of the God of Thunder’s solo films, Thor: Love & Thunder. In an interview with Weekend Today’s Richard Wilkins (via Thor: Love and Thunder News), Waititi talked about his experience working with Chris Hemsworth and the upcoming Marvel film.
“Great—we’ve got four weeks left, I can see light at the end of the tunnel. It might be the best Marvel film ever!”

Chris Hemsworth’s God of Thunder hit a few bumps in the MCU in the beginning, seeing how the first two Thor films aren’t exactly fan favorites. However, Waititi’s Thor: Ragnarok did manage to revive the film series and was well received.
Thor: Love and Thunder will introduce some more interesting characters, as Christian Bale is set to play Gorr the God Butcher and Russell Crowe will make his MCU debut as Zeus. We’ll also see some familiar faces, including Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Natalie Portman as Jane Foster. It would be interesting to follow Jane Foster’s journey into becoming the Mighty Thor and lifting the Mjolnir.
In an interview with Australian radio show Joy Breakfast with The Murphys, Crowe said,
“Now, I’m gonna get on my bicycle, I’m gonna ride up to Disney-Fox studios and around about 9:15, I shall be Zeus in Thor 4. It’s my last day of Zeus-ing about and I’m going to enjoy it.”
Russell Crowe
This could be the biggest Thor film yet, as it will see the Guardians of the Galaxy and the Thor: Ragnarok characters come together. Matt Damon, Luke Hemsworth and Sam Neill are also set to have cameos in the film. Mellissa McCarthy will also be seen playing the role of ‘fake’ Hela. Additionally, Waititi will also reprise his role as Korg.
“The next Thor film I’m doing, basically, we’re sort of launching ourselves again on this adventure film, really. That was the thing really that I loved about doing Ragnarok, it felt like we were just putting Thor on a really cool adventure. There’s always like new things to see and do, and this one, I think we’re gonna double down a lot on that and have it bigger, bolder, and brighter. There’s just gonna be some really crazy stuff in the film.”

About Thor: Love and Thunder
Thor: Love and Thunder is a MCU movie and the fourth installation in the Thor series. It is directed by Ragnarok’s director, Taika Waititi, and will show Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman reprising their roles as Thor Odinson and Dr. Jane Foster.
The movie will be based on The Mighty Thor comics in which Thor Odinson loses the ability to lift Mjolnir, and Jane Foster takes on the role of Mighty Thor. After the events of Avengers: Endgame, Thor teams up with The Guardians of the Galaxy for a short time, leaving Valkyrie as the ruler of New Asgard. But Thor returns to team up with Korg, Valkyrie and Jane’s Mighty Thor to take down Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale) – before he takes out all the gods in existence.
Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson return for Watiti’s second go, while Russell Crowe and Natalie Portaman join Taika’s project for the first time. The movie is out on July 8, 2022.
