This Valheim Seed Puts All Biomes and Bosses within Reach

When you’ve got a large map like Valheim’s on your hands, gratuitous exploration is a given. And yes, one can argue that it’s a waste of time, but it’s also a whole lot of fun. More exploration means more base constructions and many more exciting sailing expeditions.

The fact that players around the world are indulging themselves is evident by how much time players have already put in on Steam’s only 3-week-old new megahit.

It is likely that the procedural generation in the game along with the game’s RPG-like feel is keeping players hooked. But what if all that procedural generation was nullified? What if players had all the highlights of the game a stone’s throw away?

That’s exactly what this seed for Valheim does! For the uninitiated, seeds are codes that the game uses to generate worlds. If you create a new world and enter the seed that somebody else has written, you will generate a world that looks exactly like that person’s world.

Over on Reddit, user u/InfernoFPS posted a seed that puts all five bosses and biomes at a ridiculously short distance away from the initial spawn point. As you can see above, four bosses, and the trader, are all on the first continent, which contains the Meadows, Black Forest, Swamp, and Mountain biomes. This means that sailing will not be a concern until you’re ready for the fifth boss, who is on a second island across a narrow strait. And no need to hunt resources to craft a longboat! A simple raft will do the trick.

That’s a pretty crazy hack for an open-word simulation system. But does distilling Valheim’s massive map down to its bare essentials make the game more fun? That would be subjective to a player’s tastes since a lot of the fun is in exploring and crafting. Although, it does look like a speedrunner’s dream. And also seems to be a perfect fit for gamers who like to get the main story out of the way before moving onto exploration and side quests.
