After a butchered release that vaporized the high reputation CDPR had built for itself, Cyberpunk 2077 is finally on an upward trajectory these days. The massive Patch 1.5 was a start that resurrected the IP, and each update from there looks to iron out additional bugs from the post-apocalyptic Night City.
With the title now stable for enthusiasts to sink many hours into, many are finding new ways to find joy in Night City. We have already seen a plethora of mods that alter the game as we know it, but this time, the community has surely kicked it up a notch by reaching for the skies.
Thanks to the Let There Be Flight mod, CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 now houses fully-functional and fully-controllable flying cars for V to ride. This mod is currently in a beta state and applies to all the vehicles present in the open-world RPG.
Besides adding flying mechanics to the sweet rides of the game, the highly-requested Let There Be Flight Mod also aims to enhance the flying experience by introducing the following features:
- In-world navigation for quests and player-selected destinations (with appropriate colors)
- Imminent explosion audio indicator
- Visual explosions happen more readily with other cars
- Quick-eject in flight mode (hold exit)
When Cyberpunk 2077 was first announced, a horde of fans surrounded CDPR and bombarded it with questions about flying cars. Being friends with the clouds and watching the hustle-bustle of the sprawling neon megapolis from above was alluring to everyone.
Even though Cyberpunk 2077 did feature flying cars in non-playing segments, those shiny wheels were never available for players to drive, much to the dismay of everyone.
But with the arrival of this mod, things have changed for the better. You can now be in the driver’s seat of every single chariot in the futuristic city while touching the sky.
The clips provided by the modders further go on to prove that despite being in the beta phase, this mod has no clunky animations or maneuverability problems.

About Cyberpunk 2077
Cyberpunk 2077 is a 2020 action role-playing video game developed by CD Projekt Red and published by CD Projekt, based on video game designer Mike Pondsmith’s game series.
Set in a dystopian cyberpunk universe, the player assumes the role of “V,” a mercenary in the fictional Californian city known as “Night City,” where they deal with the fallout from a heist gone wrong that results in an experimental cybernetic “bio-chip” containing an engram of the legendary rock star and terrorist Johnny Silverhand (played by Keanu Reeves) threatening to slowly overwrite V’s mind; as the story progresses V and Johnny must work together to find a way to be separated and save V’s life.
