3. When and Where Was the One Piece Live-Action Series filmed?
Initially, the production was set to commence in August in Cape Town, South Africa, at the Cape Town Film Studios.
However, it was delayed until September 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Finally, the filming commenced on January 31st, 2022, and wrapped up on August 22, 2022.
4. How many episodes will there be in the One Piece live-action, and what Arcs will they cover?
Official updates from Netflix have affirmed that the One Piece Live-action series will comprise a grand total of 8 episodes.
Encompassing the initial 100 chapters and covering the East Blue Saga in One Piece.
The narrative will kick off with the Romance Dawn arc and unfold all the way to the Loguetown Arc.

6. Will there be a season 2?
There has not been any official confirmation for a Season 2 by Netflix. However, the head writer and executive producer, Matt Owens, is said to have been working on the script for Season 2.
Also, if the first season of the Live-Action One Piece series hits off successfully along with the One Piece Film Red, there’s light for an upcoming Season 2.
7. What changes have been made in the adaptation of the manga?
From what the synopsis reveals, here are some substantial deviations from the manga.
- The introduction of Garp (Vice-Admiral of the Marines), who is actively searching for Luffy, accompanied by Koby and Helmeppo.
However, in the manga, Luffy’s reunion with Koby and encounter with Garp occurred much later, around chapter 431 or episode 313 of the anime.
- Usopp, aka God or the King of Snipers, seeks assistance from the Marines during the Syrup Village Arc.
This never happened in the manga or anime.
- Also, the Warship Island filler arc won’t be covered in the live-action series.
