This quirky and charming anime was announced in 2023 and is scheduled to debut this spring. Although it was announced quite some time ago, no video material has been released.
The official website for Kantoku’s ‘A Salad Bowl of Eccentrics’ released the anime’s main promotional video. The series will premiere on April 4, 2024.
This PV features our main character, Sosuke, an impoverished detective who encounters Sara. She urges him to take more exciting cases than just the “cheating partner” ones.
Sara is a magic-wielding princess from another world, and she quickly gets acclimated to modern Japan. The video shows their quirky story and gives off a goofy vibe.
The video previews the opening theme song “Gifu-ni-ted” (a wordplay for Gifu City, where the anime is set, and the word “Gifted”) by Wanuka. The five-piece band Meiyo Densetsu performs the ending theme song “Konban no Kenka” (Tonight’s Fight).
The official website also revealed more cast members for the anime.
Character | Cast | Other Works |

Takeo | Shinnosuke Tachibana | Bungo Stray Dogs (Osamu Dazai) |

The animation of the video is pretty cute, and the series has several adorable characters. The genre might be getting overwhelming with a number of sub-par series but shows like ‘Salad Bowl of Eccentrics’ are here to remind us of the appeal of the genre.
