Usato joins Inukami’s training in episode 5 of ‘The Wrong Way To Use Healing Magic’ titled “Usato, Back in the Forest!” After officially becoming a part of the rescue team, Usato is now scheduled to train with Inukami.
The group sets off to the Darkness of Llinger and is immediately attacked. Despite succeeding in fending off one of the enemies at first, Inukami and Usato separate from the group. They will have to find a way out on their own.

Rose believes in Usato’s abilities more than ever now. After surviving the forest on his own and then vowing to protect Llinger, Usato feels like he can wholeheartedly belong to this new world.
Inukami feels the same and has found a kindred spirit in Usato. She is also visibly impressed by him and has hinted at a possible future relationship. Meanwhile, Kazuki is also training hard, but we still don’t know how he feels about this new world.

Since Usato just returned from the forest, Rose wanted him to rest. However, she cannot refuse the King’s orders, so he is going to join Inukami as her emergency healer. Knight Aruku and Mage Corrin join them as well.
Rose leaves with a warning not to overestimate healing magic. Princess Celia was worried about Kazuki straining his body, but he reassured her. Usato carries Blurin on his back to the Darkness of Llinger.
Blurin wakes up, and Inukami tries her best to get on his good side. The group encounters bandits, and Usato cheers Inukami as she takes them down. However, all of them get attacked by Fall Boars.
Inukami and Usato get blown away and land in a waterfall. Usato activates his healing magic, and they make it out safely. However, the weather worsens, so they decide to stay the night.
Usato finds a cave, and Inukami gets fish and lights a fire with her magic. Kazuki worries about Usato and Inukami missing and plans to find them. However, Rose stops him because they’ll be fine as long as Usato is there.
Inukami asks Usato if he wants to return home because she does not. She wants to free herself from the shackles that bound her in the old world. Usato likes this place better as well.
Inukami suggests a future closer relationship, and Usato gets shy. The following day, they set off on their path, and Blurin finds them along with Aruku. They find out he was trying to find them the entire night. They all head back to where they belong.
